Halo 4
Halo 4 represents a fresh start for both Microsoft and their iconic mascot, Master Chief. Following the completion of the previous trilogy and spin-off – Halo: Reach, series architects Bungie decided they’d taken the franchise as far as they could and passed the mantle over to upstart developers 343 Industries.
In the careful hands of 343, a whole new trilogy is planned for Master Chief and Halo 4 is only the beginning. As seen in the Halo 4 trailer, Master Chief is marooned on a mysterious new planet and will be tasked with tackling a whole new set of galaxy-threatening problems along with his side-kick Cortana. Graphics have been extensively overhauled with the game now running gorgeously in a 1280x720 resolution, while the same robust Halo gameplay we’ve all come to know and love has survived the transition to a new developer.
Multiplayer
The reason why so many people love the Halo franchise is the fast-paced and deep multiplayer aspect. As you’d expect, this entire section of the game has enjoyed a significant overhaul and it’s now known as “Infinity”, which is the name of a massive deep space vessel where Spartans are trained for combat. Multiplayer combat is broken up along two different paths – War Games and Spartan Ops. War Games contains old favourites like Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and VIP mode, while Spartan Ops contains a co-operative, episodic experience.
New in Halo 4 is the ability to set your character up with a Specialisation. These varying loadouts allow you to customise your primary and secondary weapons, armour abilities and a grenade type. Weapons will still appear around the map but their location will be random. The robust Halo multiplayer XP system also returns while players can rank from level 1-50, depending on performance.
Halo 4 Accessories

Microsoft has released a stunning Halo 4 Wireless Controller that contains exclusive UNSC art work and an adjustable D-pad. There’s also a full range of Halo Mega Bloks available and there’s the opportunity to see where the franchise started with the updated version of Halo: Combat Evolved for Xbox 360.
