Mice and Keyboards
Get Your Hands on the Perfect Mouse and Keyboard
Maybe you’re not too wild about the mouse and keyboard that came with your desktop computer, or else you have a laptop and you’re finding that the built-in keyboard and trackpad just aren’t cutting it. When it comes time to pick up a new mouse or keyboard, check out Future Shop’s huge selection of mice, keyboards, and combo sets from manufacturers like Logitech, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard (HP), and more.
Computer Mice
A
mouse seems like a pretty simple device, but there’s actually a wide range of different types and features you can choose from. Corded mice are sufficient for basic computing tasks, but some people prefer the freedom of wireless mice. These cordless wonders use either RF (radio frequency) technology, which requires a USB dongle that plugs into your computer, or Bluetooth, which works with the Bluetooth technology built into your computer and doesn’t need a dongle. Most newer mice models employ either optical tracking (an LED and sensor combine to track movement), or a laser, which provides even more precision. If you want additional functionality look for a five-way scroll wheel, extra buttons, and special tracking technology that will allow you to use your mouse on unusual surfaces like granite countertop, carpet, or even your pant leg.
Computer Keyboards
Finding the perfect
keyboard is very important, especially if you’re on the computer all day long. Basic keyboards can get the job done for many people, while others will require an ergonomic design or special function buttons that provide quick shortcuts to frequently used applications. You can get keyboards with cords, wireless keyboards that use RF or Bluetooth technology, keyboard with built-in trackpads, folding keyboards, solar-powered keyboards, and even flexible keyboards that you can roll up and put in your bag.
Mouse and Keyboard Combos
If you don’t want to buy them separately you can pick up a
mouse and keyboard combo (sometimes referred to as a “desktop” bundle). This is a convenient and budget-friendly way to upgrade your computer’s input devices.
Presenting Tools
Mice and keyboards can handle most of your inputting needs, but when it comes to presenting a project to a group of people you’re probably better off with a dedicated
presentation tool. A wireless remote will help you click through each slide of your presentation without being tied down by cords, and some models come equipped with a laser pointer so you can easily draw attention to specific details on the screen.
