If you’re looking for a simple docking station for your laptop or tablet, you might be disappointed to find that there is no solution available specifically for the model you’re looking for. Manufacturers don’t make docks for all devices after all. If your gear has a USB port, then you may be in luck, being able to have all the convenience of a dock, only needing to be plugged in via USB. I, for example, have a Surface Pro which has one USB port. With the StarTech USB docking station I simply plug it in to that USB port and instantly my display is extended to an external monitor, my headset is hooked up and ready to go, and I can take advantage of four USB ports for whatever I need. It turns that one available USB port on my gadget into four and eliminates the need for me to connect everything to my device one at a time. One plug to rule them all. Now when I sit down at my desk, I’m up and running with all my external peripherals in no time.

I had the opportunity to get to know the new Kobo Aura HD eReader and really spend some time getting a good feel for the device. When it was first announced it certainly looked like a premium level eReader device but now I can confidently say that it’s certainly the nicest E-ink device I’ve ever used.

If you’re super into PC gaming, it can be tough finding a mobile solution to fit your needs. There are a bunch of purpose built gaming notebook PCs out there but a lot of them are brutish hulks that will be a chore to handle if you plan to carry them around much. They’re technically portable but not practically for the frequent gamer on the go. The Eurocom Monster 1.0 is very different. They designed it in such a way that you don’t have to sacrifice real notebook portability for performance. It's not extremely heavy, or bulky. You can’t tell by lifting it or looking at it that it is a true gaming machine, in fact. Its humble exterior houses pretty hard-core specs which are more than enough for working on the go, and well suited for whatever gaming you want to throw at it.
