Refrigerators: Refrigerator Appliances - Future Shop
When it’s time to eat chances are you’ll start off in the refrigerator, whether you’re digging up some ingredients or looking for a cold drink to accompany your meal. However, the kitchen fridge is more than just a source of cold food storage – it’s the centerpiece of your kitchen, and a great place to start when it’s time to upgrade the heart of your home.
Future Shop carries an extensive range of refrigerator appliances.
Top-freezer Refrigerators
The most common type of fridge, the top-freezer design has – you guessed it – the freezer on the top. They tend to be the least expensive type and do a good job of maximizing the amount of available storage.
Bottom-freezer Refrigerators
If you’re a taller person and don’t like stooping over to see what’s in your fridge, then maybe a bottom-freezer refrigerator is for you. With the freezer on the bottom, the more commonly-accessed fresh food area is closer to eye level, resulting in less bending and stooping over.
Side-by-side Refrigerators
This design of fridge places the freezer on one side and the fresh food compartment on the other. The doors are generally narrower, which means this type of refrigerator can fit better into tight spaces. Many side-by-side fridges come equipped with water and ice dispensers.
French-door Refrigerators
Combine the door layout of a side-by-side fridge with a bottom-freezer and you’ve got a French-door fridge. This allows you to only open the section of the fridge you need, resulting in less loss of cold air and lower overall energy usage. These fridges also tend to have water and ice dispensers.
