If it’s true that LG made a breakthrough in the tough smartphone market, it may well have been the G2, which signaled the company was serious about competing with the best. As good as the phone was, in some respects, it needed some work to improve the user experience. This is exactly what the LG G3 seems to be tailored for, not only trimming the fat of its Android skin, but also using a display that is unquestionably one of the best on any handset today.

Review: Motorola Moto E

By gadjosevilla from 06-19-2014

With the Moto G, Motorola was knocking on the door of the large budget consumer smartphone space by offering respectable performance, great build quality and an almost “pure” Android experience with no annoying overlays and skins. The Moto G was a huge success and Motorola’s rewarded it by making it a mid-range model and adding 4G-LTE as well as microSD card functionality.

At the entry level, Motorola’s created the Moto E, which is smaller and more compact but which offers a decent set of specs for a device that’s designed to replace a feature phone.

Smartphones for emerging markets are a thing now.

Review: Motorola Moto G LTE good value for money

By TeddyK from 06-12-2014

Smartphone manufacturers have tended to pack in whatever they can into their devices, choosing to offer as much as possible without paralyzing them. Despite a bit of caution in that trend so far this year, flagship handsets will always be about what can be done, rather than what can’t. But not everyone is in the market for the hottest item when practicality, functionality and price intersect. Motorola has looked to fill that mid-range void by offering devices that don’t aim to unseat anyone from a perch, but rather provide value without a big financial commitment. This is exactly where the Moto G LTE lies, a phone that neither dazzles nor disappoints.

Unlocked Cell Phones and Smartphones

Unlocked cell phones and smartphones give you freedom

Most of the cell phones or smartphones you can buy are locked to a specific carrier, which means they can’t be used on any other carrier’s network (unless you’re roaming). However, unlocked phones are available, and since they’re unlocked these phones give you the freedom to choose which carrier you prefer. Also, unlocked phones are great for travelling – once you’ve reached your destination just buy a SIM card from the local carrier, pop it into your unlocked phone, and you’ve got a local phone for calls and data, avoiding the need to pay expensive roaming rates. Another advantage of unlocked cell phones or smartphones is that they’re not tied into a contract, so you can more easily switch plans or switch providers, if you so choose.

Before you get an unlocked phone, consider this: some providers only operate on specific frequency bands, so if you want to join a certain provider, make sure the unlocked phone you’re purchasing is compatible with that provider’s available frequency bands. This also applies when you’re travelling, so it’s a good idea to do some homework before your trip to make sure the provider in your destination country will work with your phone.

Future Shop carries a wide selection of unlocked phones, with brands like BlackBerry, LG Electronics, Nokia, Motorola, and more, so you can choose the style and type of cell phone or smartphone that fits your needs.
