Future Shop provides the Forum as a service to its users and customers, to help them exchange ideas, tips, information, and techniques related to the products and services available in our stores. The Forum is here for the enjoyment and benefit of all members and is accessible to all visitors. Participation in the Forum is accessible to all who register. The guidelines and rules presented below tell you what is expected of you as a condition for participating in the Forum, and what you can expect from other participants. By registering you agree to follow these Usage Guidelines, in addition to the Web Site Use Agreement, which can be found here.
We're here to help.
If you are new to the Forum and are unsure about anything, just post your question in our Community Information Centre board or send a message to one of our moderators by clicking on their username and selecting "Send this user a private message." You'll find that our moderators and your peers in the Forum are always happy to help. Moderators are always identified by the "Moderator" title under their user names, which are red and bolded.
Keep it relevant.
For everyone's benefit, please stay on topic when posting in the Forum. This Forum is specifically provided to allow users and Future Shop Product Experts to share their knowledge and help one another. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product or posting links to sites where they are abused, referencing Moderator actions, “bumping” a post unless you are adding information related to the thread, cross-posting your message across multiple boards or, in general, from posting on topics unrelated to products and services available at Future Shop stores.
Furthermore, please note that the Future Shop Community Forums are not intended for customer service issues. If you have a concern about your in-store or online customer experience at Future Shop, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can help resolve your issue.
This is not a forum for discussing prices. We recognize that the issue of prices of products or services may come up but we do not want it to be the focus of the Forum. The Forum is to discuss our common love - great technology. For legal reasons we do not permit references to competitors’ or their prices. If you wish to refer to a Future Shop price then please recognize that prices change over time. A price that is current today may not be correct tomorrow. Please check the current prices before relying on any information.
Keep it courteous and respectful.
Everyone wants to have a positive experience while on the Forum - please make sure that you are not detracting from any other user's experience. In particular, please refrain from submitting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, violent, racist, abusive, profane, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Please also refrain from submitting any content intended to exploit, solicit, or harm minors. Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks and harassment ("flaming") in either the Forum or through private messaging is not acceptable.
Most people are happy to help out on the Forum, but remember that their advice is just that - advice based on their own experience. You are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. If the advice given by a user, including Future Shop Product Experts, manufacturer representatives or any other Future Shop associate sounds wrong to you, do not try it.
You should not post personal information on the Forum including your address, age, or phone number. Furthermore, if any user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.
Keep it spam-free.
