(Kelowna, BC) October 3, 2011 – On Friday, October 7, Future Shop, Canada's largest retailer and e-tailer of consumer electronics, is celebrating the opening of its 149th store in West Kelowna. Grand opening celebrations throughout the weekend include door-crasher deals, giveaways and a donation to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs. Knowledgeable and excited Future Shop Product Experts are ready to assist customers with today’s hottest electronics. Residents of West Kelowna will now be able to shop for electronics in their community instead of having to make a trip into downtown Kelowna.

 

Grand opening ribbon-cutting & donation to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs

·         Media are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the West Kelowna store as well as meet the new staff. A donation of $5,000 will be presented to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs.

    • 9:45 a.m. – Westbank First Nations smudging ceremony with Councillor Mick Werstuik
    • 9:50 a.m. – Welcome remarks from Mayor Doug Findlater
    • 9:55 a.m. – Ribbon cutting ceremony with Westbank First Nations, Future Shop’s West Kelowna General Manager Vince Kuipers and Dameyn Parr, District Manager of Future Shop
