Nice camera kit

I bought this camera to replace my old Kodak Z650 point and shoot the price was fantastic and the picture quality does not compare crystal clear pictures the 18-55 mm lens is great and I bought the 55-250 mm as well WOW is all i can say I am taking the camera along on my European vacation and with a 32 GB card i can shoot and hoot and shoot fantastic pictures.I would highly recommend this camera kit to anyone that wants to switch over to the DSLR world of photography

Perfect beginner DSLR

This camera is best suited for anyone who wants to transition to DSLR photography. It is very easy to use and while is is more complex than a point and shoot, it doesn't overwhelm the user. It's also light and very easy to carry around on trips, but the grip is more suited for those with smaller hands. Battery life is very good, I have a spare battery and during my trips I never had to swap batteries during the course of one day. The camera lacks fancy features like touch screen, magnesium alloy body, silent focusing etc. but at this price point you can't expect any of those. The thing is, for a few more bucks you get a lot more camera than a point and shoot. 12 MP is more than enough for 8x11 prints and a computer screen. More MP doesn't mean better quality. The kit lens is somewhat unimpressive, but a good starting point. Once you get used to the camera and feel like you are ready to move up, I recommend you upgrade the lens rather than the camera (since you will probably get the same lens on the new camera, unless you go for high end). The Canon 50mm f1.8 is an inexpensive lens that will offer great optics and will allow you to get the most out of this entry level camera. Remember, the quality of your pictures is not given by the number of pixels or the features on the camera, but by the lens quality and the skill of the photographer. And the only way to get good at it is to take as many shots as you can.

Great Beginner Camera!

This camera is very easy to learn and use. It's great for beginners, especially for the price. I'd also recommend buying a nifty fifty to go along with it for better quality pictures. The battery life is great as well, I used it for 4 hours straight and still had plenty of battery left.
