Cannon Rebel T4i

Love this camera! Just purchased this camera 2 days ago after having alot of use with the t3i ..... this camera is well worth the money, the new touch screen makes things a lot easier to use and the new selection button for shooting movies is great! Don't hesitate to buy this camera! You wont be dissappointed!

Great camera but poor AF focus with nonSTM lens

I bought this camera with the hope of it being a large improvement over the t3i and t2i series but was a bit disappointed to find that its lackluster ergonomics and poor image quality at high ISOs compared to other similar class dSLRs. The body still feels somewhat cheap and plasticy but weight wise was appropriate for most outdoor trips. The battery life of was also not much to be desired of.

Game Changer

The Camera is essentially a T3i with a touchscreen, but that one difference makes *all* the difference. It completely transforms this camera from a standard DSLR to something absolutely new, and much, much better. In my opinion, this is the only consumer DSLR anyone should be buying right now. To date I have not tried the new STM lenses, so I cannot rate them.

Great Camera

I've had this camera for just over 5 weeks now and have taken all sorts of pictures from beach photos to portraits to night shots with fireworks. The kit lens is a great starter lens and will suit most peoples needs. I have also used the T4i with the "nifty fifty", the 55-250mm and the new "shorty forty"(40mm pancake lens). Of the 4 lenses I've tried, the "shorty forty" has been getting the most use. Very sharp images compared to the kit leandesite similar sharpness to the 50. It is a great walk around lens and so small it's a bit awkward having it on at first. Haven't used the 50mm f/1.8 since I got the 40. The T4i takes great low light picture with all lenses I've tried. The camera is very quick and the touch screen is an awesome feature - especially for those that are used to using a smart phone like I have. I used to take a lot of quick shots with my iPhone 4S and this is just as easy to navigate through with the touch screen. I recommend getting a spare battery. I just got 2 aftermarket ones with a wall plug-in charger and they last longer than the canon one but the downside is the life indicator will always show full since its not canon made. You never know when it's gonna die but as long a you have another one ready that should never be a problem. Overall a great purchase and to me worth the cost over the T3i which my brother owns. If its an upgrade from the T3i than that depends on if it's worth it to you but of you're buying fresh get the T4i!!
