Works well but seems to have bad power supplys

Why i bought this: : Able to do ADSL (DSL) as bridging mode (no NAT or firewall, uses another firewall to login (PPPOE)) : NTP (however doesn’t work in above bridge mode) : SYSLOG is support (for external management) : Management IP address when in bridging mode : Network only (no USB support) Why i like it : In bridging mode (meaning there is a PPPOE firewall behind it) it will show me once the internet is connected by the external firewall (has a light for it) : Am able to login to the device with an IP address even though its in Bridging mode. : Lights are easy to make out, even the internet login shows up when its in bridge mode. Why i don’t like it : My last one failed, OR DID IT, turns out the old unit did not fail, the power supply did, but as the plug is very tiny, cant get them alone, so i cut off the old plug and used a 12volt PSU, now the old one is working so this is spare, never used in the box! :NTP doesn’t work in bridging mode, so the time always says 1 Jan in the SYSLOG and local log file (i have a suppport call open for this with D-Link. Would i buy it again? : Yes, only as TPLINK version doesnt support SYSLOG or NTP which i need.

I just bought this modem after searching and reading different brands, it works really well and saved me a lot of $$$. I paired it with dlink router and they are both doing great job! I'm satisfied with this product. Hope this will help for someone who will start to install net in their homes

Avoid buying DSL-520B

It worked, but only last less than 2 years. Now, I'm looking for a different one.

Very, very, poor and buggy interface. Gives you random errors while at the modem interface when you click on buttons. Tried different browsers, same problem. Googled to find the answer, basically when doing setup, instead of single clicking on some of the "next" steps, you have to triple or quadruple click the steps in order for the modem to recognize your intention. overpriced modem for what you get, buy a cheaper one.

Excellent value modem

It's dirt-cheap, easy to configure and plays well with Bell equipment. If you already own your own wireless router, this is the modem to get. No other modem will be better and other modems in the [same price] range will typically give you slow speeds and intermittent connectivity where this modem will maximize the potential of your DSL line.

the best example of a bad modem

I had a D-Link router few years ago, it did not last for more than 1 month. Now, after 4 years I wanted to give it another try, but no thing has been improved by D-Link. Never buy this product

Good Modem

I have this modem for 3 weeks now and it works perfectly. Very easy to set up. Unlike my previous modem no reset was required from time to time. All I can say, so far I am happy with my purchase. The only cons I have is the price. In my opinion it is a bit over-priced.
