Great little sucker

Amazingly powerful for its size. Got construction dirt out of our new home's hardwood floors that a bigger, more cumbersome vac had not picked up. Light, maneuverable and very easy to use. Love it!

Glorified dust buster & Battery life too short

Battery life is wayyy too short. 15 mins is not enough time to properly vacuum a room, let alone a whole house. Worked ok on hardwood floor and also on carpet. Sucking power was ok but still left some particles behind, especially with the brush attachment. Was easy to empty. Was my first ball vacuum which was actually convenient for along walls and weird curves, but a 10$ broom would be just as effective. Overall is a good dust buster/dirt devil type machine but not worth the inflated price. If you are using it for any type of real estate bigger than a studio apartment I suggest buying a full size vacuum instead.

Great Vacuum

It's a great vacuum. My only issue, and it's an intentional design feature because of the short battery life, is that you have to hold down the trigger to vacuum. It would be nice if the trigger could be locked so you don't have to hold it down all the time.

Dyson Rechargable (DC35)

I thought it was better Quality than it is. The long wand attachment wobbles at the unit connection . other that this a good vacuum .

Dyson DC35 Review from Cole Harbour NS

Good in the corners and on carpets and floors. Easy for my 76 year old body to use when cleaning under beds and dressers. It has a no trade clause.

Great for it's purposes

I feel like the negative reviews are because people expected this to have the same functions and capabilities of a full sized vacuum. I have all hardwood with a few small mats and it is PERFECT. In the 15 minutes of battery life I can vacuum about 750 sq feet of living space and entrances. Since we have small children our floor gets covered in pieces of paper and bits of crafts and beads so we sweep up the larger pieces before vacuuming. It is more efficient at picking up dust and dog hair then a broom. It's one of the best purchases I've made for my home.

Just what I expected

I bought this vacuum for keeping a technical room at work clean. It is great for that purpose, because I get into the little nooks and crannies, and can safely work around areas with lots of cables. I very much appreciate the HEPA filter, and that it can be washed and reused. The battery capacity is sufficient for what I need.

Returned this product

After reading the reviews, I decided to go ahead and purchase this little Dyson in hopes that others were being too critical. I successfully vacuumed all of my carpet and the results were amazing. On the hardwood, however, this Dyson could not pick up small items like a popcorn kernel but did a great job with dust and hair. This was one of the considerations for returning this Dyson. This Dyson is easy to use and light weight. The battery lasts about 15 minutes, no longer. The bin seemed a little too small as the Dyson was picking up so much out of the carpet(leaving my Kenmore to shame). Warning to those with allergies: Having dust and mold allergies caused problems since this vacuum, as all Dysons, is bagless and no matter how carefully the bin is emptied, some gets in the air and I am very sensitive. I would recommend emptying the bin outside, paying attention to not breath any of it in. The Dyson is exceptional in removing hair, dust, mold, etc but it's a huge health issue for me when emptying the bin. Is it worth being sick for days? No, and so I returned mine.

perfect for stairs, small areas

Certainly not as much suction as a full vacuum, but quite good, very light, easy to move around. Great for stairs, small areas or hard floors. Carpets have to be done multiple times so it is fine for a hallway or something but I wouldn't recommend trying to clean a large carpeted room. I don't have pets, but I suspect pet hair would cause problems. If you don't have a big canister garbage it is a little tough to empty the canister and not make mess. Also, the canister has to be emptied often and the filter has to be cleaned often.

Good little vacuum

I bought this on sale for Boxing Day seeing as it's way to expensive regularly considering it's basically a dust buster. I wanted it because it's small size would suit my apartment storage capacity and it does. It's powerful enough to vacuum normal floor messes and the battery is more than long enough to do my whole apartment without dying. The floor attachment does get hair wound up in the spinning brush, however there's an opening on the side of the attachment to slide out the brush and take the hair off easily. The reservoir empties easily over the garbage can. Overall I'm really satisfied with this purchase since it's no less powerful than my old clunky Kenmore canister vacuum was, without being a huge smelly inconvenience in my utility closet. The only reason I didn't give it five stars instead of four is because I've only had it for a short time and can't attest to its longevity.

Wow

Still can't believe that it works. It's extremely expensive but works better than a big drag around vac. Looks pretty cool. Hangs on the wall and is easy to empty. Gave it a 3 only because the price. Works awesome

Think twice!

This is a terrific lightweight cordless vacuum when it is working properly. Having used this one for nearly a year now, and having to replace the battery, for the second time now, because it suddenly loses power, I am no longer convinced that Dyson is as good as it purports to be! This is an expensive appliance and should be more reliable! The upside is that the warranty folks send a new battery, usually after dancing you around a few over the phone "tests"! While you wait...with no vacuum!

A much overrated vacuum...

After only using this vacuum once, I had to call and have two pieces replaced due to faulty construction (at this price!!!). Secondly, the motorhead used for hardwood floors/rugs is covered with hard plastic on the bottom with plastic wheels running over the floor.... hardly conducive for passing over hardwood floors. Of course, they don't have any soft brush attachment which would be much more practical.

Good for apartments

Battery is good for a room or two of thick carpet per charge. Quiet, effective, easy to maneuver, storage takes little space. As with most beater-bars, long hairs get wound up quickly so you'll need to slice them out regularly.

Another great product from Dyson

I've had a Dyson upright for 5 years and I absolutely love it. We have 2 Dogs, a cat and a toddler so our Condo can go from clean to messy in about an hour. I was looking for something that would be quick and easy to pull out for touch ups as I was getting pretty tired of pulling out the upright every night. The DC 35 works like a charm, it has great suction, its extremely maneuverable and its very light / ergonomic. Its nice that it has the "Turbo" mode for tougher jobs, but I find that its works like fine on normal mode for most things, therefor that battery has never run out on me. I can vacuum my entire 1100Sq Ft condo on one charge. The one thing that I would improve it the trigger switch. While I don't have a lot of issues with it, I can see it giving people with smaller hands a bit of a problem during prolonged use.

Love this vacuum!

I had been wanting to try a Dyson for years but my husband thought they were too expensive. We tried other cheaper vacuums that just didn't pick up the dust so I bought the Dyson DC35. What a difference! I love this vacuum. It's so easy to use and can be stored in my closet with an electrical outlet for charging. We live in less than 500 square feet and I can vacuum our whole place in one charge. I wish I would have bought it sooner!

DC35

It does what I want. It is a little heavy for over your head work. What? It's for floors? Works great for in tight corners high or low. The length of charge is quit good, Great combination with Dyson vacuum. Dirt has no where to run.

Perfect for condo owners...

Amazing vacuum...A lot quieter than any other vacuum I've had in the past. My apartment is less than 700 square feet and it is perfect. I can do a thorough vacuum of my entire place including edges, under and behind furniture without the battery running out (not using MAX). The only regret that I have is that I didn't buy it sooner. Strongly recommend this to anyone that has limited storage space, wants a thorough clean, wants a quiet machine, wants a hassle free vacuum that you can pull out for quick jobs and wants a cordless vacuum. I probably wouldn't recommend it to someone with a lot of space to clean. But it is perfect for condo owners.

Now my 'go-to' quick vacuum!!

I love almost everything about my new Dyson slim vac right from the day I received it!! The only aspect that was a surprise to me is the 'trigger' control which requires user to hold it in when vacuuming. Other than that, it's very user friendly & doesn't seem to tire the fingers, but a 'lock-on' switch would probably be preferred. I suppose this does save power because you only engage it when you're actually vacuuming. Great power, ease of use & very easy to empty. I would recommend this highly to anyone. Dyson certainly pays attention to detail when designing (except for the 'trigger') - even providing a 'path' for the cord behind the charging unit so it would lay flat against the wall.

Good for small apartments

I have a small 650 sq ft apartment with no carpets. I wanted something with no cords but good suctioning power and the Dyson fit the bill. It has a very small head that which is a negative over large open areas, but great for going around furniture and stuff. The advertising is a bit misleading on how long the charge lasts. It says 15 minutes in normal mode, but that's only if you are using the crevice tool, not the motorized brush head. It's only 13 minutes for the motorized brush head. Who vacuums their entire place using just the crevice tool? My place is small so 13 minutes is enough but if your place is much bigger, consider getting the model with a bit more time.

Why did we wait so long to buy a Dyson...?

I vacuumed all my carpets with our Hoover Windtunnel T Series (P.A.W.S), then went over everything again with our new Dyson DC35. The collection canister was 3/4 full of dirt and pet hair. We have two kids, two dogs, and two cats so a good vacuum is important in our house. This Dyson is crazy good! It is super light weight, makes half the noise as our Hoover and works awesome on both carpet and hard floors. I love that there is no cord to wrap up, or trip over. Also, the docking station takes care of the "where do we put the vacuum" discussion. The price tag was tough to swallow but now that we have it home and have tried it, it was well worth it. This vacuum is the best we have bought, and we have tried several over the years. If we had lots of thick carpet, I would have chosen a full size Dyson but our house is almost all hard surfaces and thinner carpet and the Dyson DC35 works great. Adios Hoover!

Good but not great

I love my new DC35 except for the very short life of the battery. Everything else about the machine is perfect. If they ever come out with a faster charger I will be first in line.

Dyson DC35 Slim

I have spent a small fortune on cheap vacuum cleaners hoping to find a good one. I finally decided to try a Dyson DC35 because it is cordless and small and easy to use. I love it, it is the best vacuum I have ever owned and the suction is great. I also like that it shuts off when you release the trigger....saves battery life. It may cost more, but it is well worth it!

Well worth the dough

I had bought a corded Hoover cheapo vacuum (that did a great job) before I bought the Dyson Digital Slim but I found that the cord was a real pita so I hesitantly paid the premium dough to go cordless. I am happy to report that after a year it was money well spent. I can clean my entire 850 square foot condo with battery power to spare. It's a kickin' little machine!

Outstanding

We purchased this unit 2 weeks ago and love it. We have found nothing in such a small package that works so well. Great suction, outstanding versatility. We were a little concerned with the price but after using it, it was well worth the money. We would highly recommend this unit to everyone.

So happy with this vac!!

I'm so happy with this multi floor vacuum. I bought it for my main floor which is all hardwood. I love that it is cordless. The suction is amazing. It is so easy to pull out and quickly clean up after meals or before company arrives. I still use my large dyson weekly, but this is the best little vac for daily cleaning. I know it is pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion.

Best of the best(s)!

If you have a small condo, office, space, and you wish to keep it clean all the time, but you don't have Dyson vacuum yet, this is the one you should buy. Small, light-weight, and extremely portable; this product is so easy to use and does job no other handheld vacuum can do. The 15mins battery run time is more than twice of the regular Dyson handheld; although, I'd hope it can be longer. I am fully satisfied with this DC35 and I like to recommend this product to everyone who is thinking about getting a handheld vacuum device that really gets the job done properly. This $350 price tag might seem to be a shock but in reality, no real performance comes cheap and that is and always will be a fact.

love it

This is my third cordless vacuum and last! It has amazing suction and I love the little vacuum head that swiffels into small corners. The only thing I don't like is you have to keep the button pressed while using it. The price is steep, but well worth the money. I love that is takes seconds to clean after each meal.

Excellent product

This really has a lot of suction. It picks up so much dirt that is not even visible to me. Everything about this unit is so well engineered from the high suction to the way you empty the dirt, and even the wall mounting/charger. The cordless convenience is unbeatable. I don;t think there is anything else out there that is cordless and has this kind of suction. Highly recommended, and worth the price.

A MUST HAVE!!!!!

this vaccuum is a must, my house has never been so clean because I'm able to easily vaccuum my whole house (1400 square feet x 2 levels) every day and the kitchen and entry way a few times a day and i love it!!! it's light weight and easily manoeuvres around dining room chairs and perfect for a quick vaccuum after the kids are done eating! I actually really like using this vaccuum and I haven't even been able to use up the whole batterie yet and it keeps the suction the whole time. I swear you have to buy this, I've been telling everyone about it!!!!!
