Amazing camera with limitation

What you've read all about this camera here and other reviews online are true. It takes awesome pictures that rival high end DSLRs. Dynamic range is amazing. The "Intelligent Flash" that works to properly brighten dark areas and faces without blowing out highlights really is "intelligent" - the best results I've seen from any camera so far. The only drawback is its autofocus speed. While it has improved from the original x100, I'm spoiled by the AF speed of my Olympus EP5 which quickly nails the focus almost every time so using this Fuji is a downgrade in that aspect. I'm getting fewer keepers, however when it does nails the focus, the pictures are top notch. The X-Trans sensor is really extraordinary. Also, not worrying about changing lenses is refreshing, as it has a fixed lens, but that maybe a limitation for some. It really makes you think more about your technique. The lens at its maximum aperture (F2) is really nice. Used with the built-in ND filter results in amazing images outdoors in full sun shooting wide open. Stop down to about F4, images become razor sharp. This lens is awesome for such a compact size. The OVF/EVF is pretty neat, but I'm coming from cameras without them so I'm used to using the LCD. OVF/EVF is great when used outdoors, especially on sunny days. No complaints there. Lots of manual control on this camera, too, so you can totally tweak to your heart's desire. If Fuji improves its focus speed and accuracy, it would be the perfect camera for me.

Fantastic Carry Everywhere Camera

Despite the well known limitations, this camera is a dream to shoot with. I wear this everywhere with an Artisan N Artist quick adjustable strap and it's ready to fire while sitting flat against the body and out of the way when not being used. The flash is extremely balanced giving you just enough extra light in tough low light situations while using high ISO to expose the backgrounds. It's the best implementation in any camera I have used vs. the long shutter speeds typically used in other cameras to expose the backgrounds. High ISO performance is so good that I don't care if I'm shooting ISO6400. EVF is a dream to use. I wish it was higher resolution but I'm sure the next version will rectify that. I also own an RX1 which is an amazing camera in it's own right, but this camera holds it's own extremely well, especially given the price!

Perfect if you don't mind about AF speed

AF is better than x100, but I don't think they solve the problem...

FUJI X100S

I owned both the X100 and the X100S Both are nice cameras and work very well for most things stationary.Superb images. However they cannot keep up with the changing facial expressions of kids. I stepped up to the X100S simply because I read that they had resolved their speed problems/sluggishness. Not so: even the new and improved X100S could not keep up with my grandkids with a fast 45MB/sec Sandisk Extreme card! Result? I took the X100S back to Future Shop. I hope the third rendition of the X100 will do better. If my SONY A77 DSLR can capture those fleeting kids expressions why not Fuji? It remains to be seen.In the meantime, I wait patiently. That criticism aside its a superb camera in most every respect but speed.

Love it!

Camera is amazing. I love the look and every control just feels right and easy to use. This is not a camera for someone looking for a point & shoot. If you love fast lens, high quality files with arguably the best APS-C sensor, you will love this camera. Camera operation is fast without any delays or lags. It's got some features not found in most camera like OVF/EVF view-finder that is just magically switched between optical and electronic. And manual split focus and focus peaking that works great. The only bad part is that auto focus is great in good light but in low light it could be a bit slow, but not terrible.
