VERY Pleased

I've owned this washing machine for almost a year now, and have washed 2-5 loads a week. I cannot say a bad thing about this machine. I purchased it because it was on sale for an incredibly low price, cheaper than what it would have cost me to call out a repair man to fix my old washing machine that had stopped working. I did a little homework and read some reviews on this washer and decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did.

Great Value and Simple Controls

Bought a pair of these washers during Future Shop's 2014 Cyber Monday sale for tenants and after a week, they seem to be holding up. I'm not sure about long term build quality though. The machine is fairly quiet and goes through a load of clothes in an hour. However, the suspension system is very basic and the tub cover is so small you can see if the suspension rods just by moving the tub.

I purchased 'washer 3.6 /dryer 6.5

I am so pleased with these appliances they are reliable, quiet, and of excellent manufacturing, for example the enamel is smooth, the inside drum of the washer is a plus, and most of all the way it handles the washloads especially on the spin cycle is amazing, someone smart did brain this machine with a lot of smarts. Thank you Haier for having made me believe in technology again. You beat them all. Sincerely Guylaine Thank's again :-)

Best washing machine I've ever owned

Had two years and with three kids, one of them an avid soccer player and runner, and another a cyclist . . . it gets a lot of use. I've had both top and front loaders. This machine doesn't use much water and it doesn't shake the house on the spin cycle. I notice on some of the cycling shirts old stains from chain grease that never got out 100% completely have coming out.

This machine is 14 months old and the agitator has come away from the transmission casing [...] A schematic of the machine is not available , no one has parts, so the best place for this machine is the scrap heap. Don't be fooled by the price a wash machine should last longer than 14 months [...]

a nice surprise!

Very happy with the purchase. Have it for more than 1 year. No problem. Sleek and chic looking, very quiet, seems bigger than it looks as I could put in a lot of clothes. Highly recommended. One of my friends saw it and was impressed by its quality and unbelievable low price. He is doing a home reno and plan to buy one after he put drywall around his future laundry room. :-) Highly recommended if you are looking for good quality and on budget. Haier dryer is also very good. If you leave the clothes in it for a long time, it will have brief cycle to keep the clothes from getting too much wrinkles. At least that's my understanding. Sometimes I ignored the beeping or was doing gardening outside, I heard the dryer restart for a few minutes. Very nice feature.

Don't let the cheap price fool you, this washer does it's job as good as the $500 units, had horrible luck with a new 500 dollar unit so cheaped out and bought this one. Works great

Follow up update on purchase of washer

Have been using the washer now for over a week, washing 2 -3 loads every other day. And the clothes have been coming out spun relatively with little dampness, and it has been operating relatively quiet. Overall, have been simply using the delicate cycle for all the laundry loads, as it provides the shortest cycle, without having to use warm wash. The super size option has enough capacity to handle a really large family size laundry load. Definitely not a Samsung, but if it keeps up its reliability, then the low price will be worth it.

Okay, value for the low price

Just got it two days ago at a great sale price. Fairly good number of wash options plus a quick wash option. The only draw back with the quick wash is the requirement to use warm water to wash. Otherwise the delicate option works well at a quick 30 mins cycle time with cold wash. First time washing it, the laundry came out soaking wet, although the drum was drained. Obviously, the machine did not go through the spin cycle. Was quite frustrated given it was literally brand new. Browsed through internet and determined that these units were notorious for this issue. Took the recommendation to load up the machine a bit more, and ensure the right level setting was selected for the load. The next three washes came out fine, clothes were well spun dry, just damp as it should be. Will see if the unit continues to perform reliably. The unit actually performs it operations fairly quietly, given the cheap price and the apparent lower quality build. Sound proofing is minimal, basically just 4 small thin pads on the inside of the frame, to absorb any potential impact the drum may make with the frame wall. Selection panel is quite slick for the price value. Digital LED selection of the options and also end of cycle beep alarm. If you are not looking for fancy wash options, like those offered by the more expensive Samsung and LG models (e.g. steam, sensors for delicate clothes etc), then this unit will do everything your regular laundry needs. If you are on a budget and looking for a washer to do your regular everyday laundry, then this unit will serve that purpose. The only thing is the long term reliability which is to be determined.

Cheaply made if you ask me!

When I first used it I thought it worked great on the quick cycle but when I use any other cycle the washer makes a loud creaking sound that progresses as the washer agitates that sounds like a building that is about to collapse, literally! I do allot of laundry and I need something more dependable than this. Half the time it sounds like the washer is going to explode on the spin cycle even when its balanced. If a load gets out of balance there is no switch that turns the washer off in this situation either...just foam padding installed on the inside of the washer to reduce banging around. And thank god the washer is on the first floor because if not the washer would have self destructed before i got to it!!! in my opinion the washer performs well but I can tell it is not built to last.

Impressed so far

My Frigidaire top loader stopped draining after about 10 years of use. We also has a front loader form Sears, but after it failed I went back to the top loader and I liked it better. So back to the Haier top loader. The Frigidaire used 975 kwH per year, this one uses 325 kwH / year. The control panel is electronic. The lid sensor is magnetic and completely sealed (I suspect the lid sensor switch is what failed on the Frigidaire). The drum is stainless steel. The spin speed is 650 RPM. It gets the clothes pretty dry and the machine hardly vibrates (I did level it, front to back, side to side). I debated between this and the next model of Haier up, which is a 3.6 cu ft capacity and has a has a high efficiency pulsator instead of an agitator. That one spins at 800 RPM and only uses 200kwH / year. I'm pretty happy with it and can't believe the value.
