Yankovic's spoofs remain true to the melody, and the lyrics flow well as he satirizes a potpourri of poppers from Coolio ("Amish Paradise") to TLC ("Phony Calls") to U2 ("Cavity Search," which urges, "Numb me/Drill me/Floss me/Bill me"). In "The Alternative Polka," Yankovic takes a whirlwind romp through 11 modern-rock songs, original lyrics and all. These gems, coupled with his own songs (from the They Might Be Giantish "Everything You Know Is Wrong" to the barbershop doo-wop of "Since You've Been Gone"), show the self-appointed King of Parody's funny yet firm grasp of popular music.
