Spare room TV 8 months old DEAD

Great picture till it died! Used in the spare bedroom maybe 1-3 times a week. After it stopped working phoned Future Shop and the will send it out for service. 6-8 weeks minimum for repair! After that looked online and this is a massive chronic issue with these TV'S blown power supplys. Buyer beware [...]

It stopped working and refused to power on. So unexpected. So disappointing. It was great while it lasted.

Perfect for A Student

This TV is exactly what I expected for what I paid for it. Clear picture, good audio, nothing mind blowing but what do you expect for the price. It was a great deal for a limited budget and the perfect size for the average bedroom/dormroom

Did the switch from 28" to 32"

I switched this TV with the 28" inch purchased 2 weeks ago and I noticed the difference in quality. Even thou the specs are similar to the 28", except for a increase in CT ratio. What ever it is, the colour skin/flesh are more accurate (natural), the contrast is smoother and blended more over the screen. no harsh white blur in dark scenes. I adjusted all settings across, also in the advance mode. Suggestion sharpness should be off or at zero value, don't put brightness settings over 1/2 way point; play around and you will be happy. Great value for the dollar. I remembered when I spent $1600.00 in 2007 Boxing D on a Sharp Aquos 42" (ha ha). Main use = PC - HD TV - and with PS3 and connected via HDMI. Happy customer!

what more do you want?

I can't say I felt an irresistible magnetism pulling me into the store to buy an Insignia TV. I can't say I was seduced by the store demo because I bought the TV online. The price was right; that was important. The TV was delivered to my door within 24 hours; that was impressive. It's made in China, but what isn't these days? The installation was simple; I seem to recall looking in the direction of the guide. The onscreen menu is easy to use with controls that work. The HDTV picture is sharp with beautiful natural colours and good sound quality. If those are your criteria, then you should buy this TV.

Average

First one lasted less than 5 minutes before the screen just cut out to black for good. The second one has worked fine for the two weeks since the purchase/return.

Great TV for the price

I got my TV from the store. Ste up was pretty easy. I use a coaxial cable and the screen is crisp clear. Great TV if you are on a budget. I have no complains

pretty good

This price is definitely worth getting although the power cord for mine somehow would stay so whenever I move the tv the cord just falls off and shuts the tv of but other then that its excellent!

Excellent for the Price

I bought this for my daughter who is moving out for post secondary education. She'll stream Netflix via her PS3 and maybe some other web content. Set-up was really easy and the colours are crisp and bright. It's quite light and uses very little energy. It looked quite nice in a bright room and the sound is pretty decent. There really isn't much reason to pay more for a secondary TV.

Excellent value so far

This is a great little TV for the price. About 13.5 pounds I think, to replace an old monster 4 times it's overall size and weight and still ended up with a bigger screen. Very easy to setup - just two HDMI cables (not included); one for the cable box and the other for the DVD player. Ten minutes and I was up and running. Great picture and sound from what I can tell. The only criticism I would have is that the TV is not able to auto adjust depending on whether you are watching HD or low definition channels unless you just leave it on the normal setting for screen size. If you want to watch HD in wide screen you must go into the settings and set it to wide screen and then readjust when you go back to low definition channels. A small compromise in an otherwise great purchase.
