Waste of time...

I thought I'd give it a try despite the poor reviews. I'm sorry I did. It is honestly like using an old remote on 20 year old tube tv. The interface was terrible and slow for the era of technology that we are in. I would expect a bit more than this out of Iomega. It's like they made it and stopped at the bare minimum just so they could say they have something on the market in this category.

Unsuable...

I too agree with the unresponsiveness of this unit and the flaky HDMI output. I was unable to use it with my AV receiver and had to plug it directly into my TV...not acceptable. I have never written a review here before but thought I'd try to spare someone else the headache. Iomega support is terrible as well. It would be less than 1-star if possible.

Very poor product

I purchased this product at a very reduced rate so I figured I had nothing to lose... unfortunately I lost. This is a very poorly designed product. HDMI input is flaky at best... for instance if you switch sources on your TV and then back to the screen play you lose the signal and can only get it back by powering down the unit and powering it back up. Secondly the 3 USB ports although conveniant for plugging in external hard drives only 1 of these ports have the capability for networking (sharing). Worst part is how slow the menu system is on this thing...it's horribly slow. Only good point is that it does play MOST of my media which consists mostly of .avi and .mkv files. Thankfully I got a really good deal on it... if not I'd most likely be returning it.

Not responsive

If you want a responsive, user freindly media player, do not buy this ! I do not understand how a product like this can be sold. It take more than 5 sec to change from a picture to another one. Failed to play video from Canon camera A90, Fuji h264 and when it is playing Canon D10 video 640x480 it is choke. That will be my last iomega stuff that I will buy. Alex

Bad choice for networking

I bought both this and the Diamond MP1000 to keep only the best one. I'm using a media player for it's networking capabilities, not it's local USB connection. At least for this usage, the Iomega does not work very well. The user interface is terribly SLOW and the HDMI output is unreliable. It was an easy choice to return the Iomega and keep the Diamond. I would have returned the Iomega in any case, it just didn't work right.
