Good Sound, Questionable build quality

The drivers in these headphones are great, but the sound quality, untreated, is only "good", with bass a bit too deep and with muddled mids. That said, they are better than headphones provided with most products. With some manual EQ tinkering (reducing bass and extreme top end, raising mid-highs), they really shine and reproduce sound clearly and with little distortion. The in-line microphone is of good quality, and picks up sound from a good distance away from the mouth, which is very useful for truly hands-free operation. Included is a short TRRS adaptor cable, for devices which wouldn't otherwise output sound properly. A side note: for devices that don't need it, this cable crosses the two channels in a way that removes the middle of the soundstage. In other words: Karaoke mode, GO! In terms of comfort, they are provided with three sizes of good quality silicone tips and should fit decently, but have a somewhat larger-than-average earbud housing and an angled design, which can cause them to be a bit more difficult to insert at first for certain outer ear shapes. Changing to foam tips should create a seal without having to insert them as deeply, for people experiencing these problems. The main and somewhat deal-breaking gripe is that of the poor build quality. These earphones come with cheap-looking, relatively thin wires which do not become “one” thick main cable, but rather are simply attached together in the lower portion. The attachment of the wires to the earbuds is also very poor, as the left channel in my unit became de-soldered and stopped working only a month after purchase, even with the utmost care given to them with no snagging of the cord. In addition, the button for the microphone becomes “mushy” rather than “clicky” after only a few weeks' use (although it remains functional).

JVC x-plosive ear buds

Before I commited to purchase this headset, I investigated online for this product. The majority of the reveiws is positive; and I decided to buy one for myself. It turned out that this product is so amazing that I had to buy an extra one for a backup.

Very good headphones

A little bit overamplified treble and bass, but overall very good headphones. Vastly superior to the basic headphones that come with smartphones and also superior to the average 20-30$ headphones.

Good, but not great

Sound quality is above average, decent bass, sounds hollow at first, but improves over time. good for stationary use, but would not recommend for active wear, find they like to pop out of ear on a regular basis. While I use them as a primary set, I would most likely explore other options if I was to buy another pair.

Solid IEMs for the price

I never write reviews but feel convicted enough to inform others. Pros: -Actually one of the best fitting IEMs I've had... and I've had a lot from Sennheisers, Sonys, Shure, boutique manufacturers, mainstream cheapos -Above is partly due to angled-tip design; Housing sits on the cliff of your ear canal -Good for those biased towards bass; Bass bleeds a tiny bit but not as bad as some Sonys... Higher freqs are not too harsh either -Fairly lightweight, hard rubber cable casing; Doesn't rub against my face, cable noise still there but not as bad as other cheap headphones Cons: -Not for those that like neutral flavours of sound; Mids are a bit scooped and bass is emphasized -Some cable noise but that's just the nature of the IEMs -Y-style cable; Prefer J-style though since it doesn't rub against your face and get in the way of zippers, objects near your torso For the price, really glad I got these

Good sound, convenient mic

I love these earphones. I carry a pair with me wherever I go. They're often connected to my smartphone for listening to music or watching video on the train, and if someone calls me, it's convenient to have a mic right on the earphone wire so I can speak hands free.

Nice bass but lacking features

Bought these in a pinch when I forgot my old headphones and needed some music for the day. Bass is great, really responsive for electronic music but there are some issues. First there is a slight background hiss, second the remote does not control volume which is absurd!

Terrible.

Just bought these and returned them right away. There is a terrible hiss in behind the music. The volume is not controlled by the line remote like it says on the JVC website.
