Love my Keurig

I love my Keurig,in fact ,my whole family loves it.This machine gives us so many varieties of flavours to choose from and the coffee is hot when it comes out unlike the other regular coffee pots.

Good coffe maker but only last 2.5 years

I would say - Keurig has a wide choice of coffee than other single coffee machine and it allows me to use my own coffee. The taste and temperature is good. It makes good coffee. However, the machine is big and heavy and it uses up lots of the space on the counter top. Also, one very important point is the machine all of a sudden last weekend. It keep shutting itself down after it is used for 2.5 years. I only use 3 to 4 times in a week (not a heavy user). Very disappointed that the machine life is so short for [$price]

Great while it's working

Loved my Keurig, too bad it crapped out after 15 months. Heard too many stories of them lasting only a year or so. not sure if I want to replace it.

Poor design

After 3 years I think I'm going back to my old coffee pot. I would like to let everyone know what actually plugs up on these machines. There is a plastic valve and fine screen on the other side of the needle that sticks into the K-cups. I know this because mine finally cracked and started pouring water all over the place. I took it apart and found the screen was plugged not from water scale, but from coffee. It must over time, kick back up and plug the screen. This I think, is why you shouldn't use fine grind coffee in your adapter like I did from time to time. I did find that using cleaning vinegar instead of regular vinegar worked much better for de-scaleing, which is actually cleaning that screen. Make sure you get a whole resivoirs worth through the machine and let it sit overnight in the on position. May take about 6 cyles to get the taste out. Hope this helps someone.

Barely lasted 2 years

I purchased a B60 barely two years ago and only used it on weekends. This past weekend it just died - would not power on. I opened it up and there was no lose wiring. Pretty disappointing.

Allmost Perfect!

This machine is fairly good. I like my coffee very hot so i use my microwave to heat up the coffee anyway so i dont really set the temp. When i first purchased the machine it was great then it started acting up.The blue light was flashing for low water even though the water tank was full so i checked with keurig on line. There is a little mesh strainer under the water filter i pressed the bubble then no prob. You can buy a My K Cup reusable Coffee filter at Walmart to put your own coffee in the brewer.I have had it for 6 months now.Works Great!

not impressed

I bought this model in September and stopped brewing anything but hot water after only about 2 months. I have whole bunch of coffees for it but no brewer. Will get a cheaper one and not as expensive a loss when It stops working. I called keurig and they told me to descale which I did, also looked and nothing blocking the coffee from coming out, would say brewing and then nothing. They need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

After using Keurig I'll never go back to Tassimo! It makes coffee stronger, there's a much wider variety of coffee to choose from, it's faster, quieter and a much better purchase overall.

Thank goodness for the product replacement plan!

I got this machine a year and a half ago. It worked great for the first couple of months, then it started brewing short. Meaning I would only get a half a cup, no matter what size I chose. I cleaned it as directed and it worked alright. Then after a couple months it started shorting the cup size again. Now I must say, I am a one a day coffee drinker, so it isn't like I was using this all the time! I also used the bottled water as instructed. I cleaned the machine once a month and it never went back to brewing the correct cup size. I Had a friend over for coffee one morning, so I was going to brew 2 coffees this day instead of the usual one. I brewed the first cup, and went to brew the second and the machine was off. I pressed the power button and nothing. I unplugged it, and plugged it back in, still nothing. I tried other outlets, and nothing! It just died! No warning! So incredibly upset that a machine that costs as must as this one does would last barely longer than the manufacturers warranty! Thank goodness I paid for the product replacement plan on this one!!

A saving on drive thru coffee

Had a Tassimo first for home. Bought a Keurig for work......that was it, the coffee was excellent with wide choice of flavors. I now have another one for when I'm back home. No need to buy coffee at M's or Tim's. The Tassimo is now collecting dust.

Great little machine...

Have been using this for over a year now, and have never had any issues with the machine, the K-cups can be an issue, some of them are not put together correctly and coffee grounds end up leaking. Clean the machine up, put in a new K-cup and it works fine again. Love how you can use just hot water, use your own coffee, or purchase one of the many different types of coffee Keurig offers. Sadly not all of their products are sold in Canada, due to custom issues, but they claim they are working on that. Until that happens, I have to give them a 4/5 rating.

Bought this three years ago and use daily. No problems, and the coffee is very good. If you like moderately strong coffee, you may want to stick to the strong or dark types of k-cups; the standard can become watery if used on the larger mug-sized cups. Also stick with distilled water and clean machine regularly to prolong life.

Works first

We purchased the KUB60 a year and three months ago. The warranty is for one year. We did everything the way were supposed to (cleaning when we should, etc.). And as I mentiioned in the title it was great, but just a few months after the Warranty was over it just wouldn't turn on. I thought it was just a blown fuse and plugged it into another outlet - absolutely nothing. The screen was blank, and that was that. We have a family member who has the same machine and he had exactly the same problem. It's no use to try and get it fixed as it would cost the same as purchasing a new machine. I'm more disappointed than angry as I really loved this machine. I sure hope the company is listening to the complaints and can figure out this problem. I would love to have another machine that lasts for many years, and I see no reason why the company couldn't look into the problem and rectify it. If they don't, it's their loss as these days we have very savvy customers and if nothing is done to fix this problem the company is going to find that the customers will turn to someone else instead of buying another machine.

Great coffee maker

I'm very pleased with this coffee maker. I also own a Tassimo T20 and its a great coffee maker too. The Keurig B60 makes a nice hot cup of coffee and the samples I've tried that come with the machine taste great so far. The biggest complaint I have is that the largest cup isn't enough coffee to fill my travel mug as I like lots of coffee in the morning. The solution is simple though and you just have to brew 2 smaller sizes using the same K-cup. Its a bit more time consuming but its okay. Still I wish there was a 12 oz option for this machine and I didn't want the extra price of the premium machine. Machine looks very nice. Its very simple to use and I've had no problems with it but I've only had it for a few days now. The problems with the tassimo was that there just wasn't a good enough selection of coffees like the Keurig. Although I do like the Nabob brand for Tassimo and the lattes were okay I felt like it lacked variety. The other thing Keurig does that Tassimo does better is that it takes 4 minutes to heat the water up. It not that bad though as I have it on timer to turn on automatically in the mornings so theres no wait, and no being late for work. Overall its a great coffee maker with great tasting coffees and it looks cool too. Easy to use and no mess or cleanup like drip coffee makers. I would recommend this to anyone who loves coffees or teas.

A great purchase

I purchased the special edition Keurig this week and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a card inside stating that this model now comes with a 60oz reservoir instead of the 48oz. So bear that in mind, that it now comes with the larger reservoir that before only the platinum edition came with. I am still experimenting with the different coffees, teas and iced drinks and have found that the tea and iced tea taste very good. Not as good as steeped, but that's to be expected. The coffee quality is good, not as good as fresh brewed, but again, that's to be expected since it only takes a little less than one minute to make a cup. The drink sizes are about what you'd expect. The small size is good for a cup of tea, the medium for a small mug and the larger size will fill an oversized mug about 80% full, leaving room for some cream and sugar if that is what you like. Overall I'm very happy with this. We don't drink a lot of coffee so it is convenient for making the odd cup. I find the quality up there with buying store bought coffee, especially when you use a name brand. I've owned it for two days now so the newness feeling is still there, but if the machine keeps working like it is now, I'll be very satisfied.

I love my Keurig.

For years and years I have sought to make a good cup of coffee at home that I can truly say is magnificent, I have bought many coffee machines only to be disappointed, my wife is the ultimate coffee taster and I just gave up trying to please her, until my Keurig, now we enjoy coffee at home every day. The thing I like the most is the My K Cup it allows you to use what ever brand of coffee you like, and it always brews HOT! We bought this as a Christmas gift to our selves, it was worth every dollar we spent.

Very happy

Been using at work with 4 colleagues for almost 2 years without any problems. Lots of variety of K-cups - everyone has his/her favourite and/or use reusable filter with own ground coffee. K-cups often go on sale, and way cheaper than same size drip coffee from coffee shops (approx. $0.50 vs. $2.00+ for large.) Good tasting coffee - actually miss it when off work!

Great Machine

This is a great machine love the fact that it has three different sizes. I also love the fact that it takes less than 1 minute to get a cup of coffee (machine must be left on for this). The temperature setting is nice added feature as well. I’m not sure where one of the previous reviewers said they had a problem finding the kcups and that it lacked variety. The future shop in our area carries the kcups and they have at least 20 different varieties. I can also purchase them at our regular grocery store and a variety of other stores. In my area alone there has to be well over 200 varieties of kcups.

Does its job

My first coffee maker, have used it for a few weeks. Pros - fast, easy-to-use, simple instructions (ready to brew, fill reservoir, clean). Unit is ready in about a minute. Reservoir is easy to fill (I use filtered water, not tap water). Fits below O/H cabinets w/ all controls visible, doesn't take up too much room in a condo kitchen. Selection of 3 cup sizes. Cons - K-cups are not recyclable. Wish they were....! Overall - Functional + variety of flavours available here at FS (and other retailers) at reasonable prices to satisfy anyone's tastes. Extra bonus - I got some K-cups from FS (Buy 4 packs get 1 free). Happy coffee times!

OK< but there's better out there

For the cost Tassimo is better. Plus it's hard to find the cups for this product in stores. If you want a product like this and trust me you do then look at a different line because this one is not worth the extra cost and hassle.

Awesome coffee!!

So long Timmies!! I drive by the Tim Hortons on the way to work thinking about how great my coffee will be when I brew one up on my Keurig. The different K cup flavours are fun to try and when you do find one that you love, it's heaven! One thing that I would like to caution everyone on is that when you put your K-cup into the holder, push down to release the built up air/gas in the K-cup. I've heard from another Keurig owner that the reason his stopped working properly was because of this very thing. The air/gas trapped in the K-cup actually shoots up into the controls of the machine causing problems, so when you have a K-cup that is firm and distended make sure you push down and pierce the bottom of the cup before closing the unit. I've had no problems with the 2 that I own and I would suggest this product to anyone.

Great Product

Set it to auto on 30 mins before you wake up and auto off 30 mins after you go to work. By the time you come downstairs, the machine is warmed up and ready to go. Pop in your K-Cup and you have hot coffee in 10 seconds. Look for this to go on sale, its a great product.

I bought one of these things, and I'll say that the "short" cup issue is a real pain the back side, if you are in the market for a single cup coffee brewer walk past this item and look for something else, coffee flavors are alright but like another person has said on here this machine does not brew to 192 degrees

  • from Richmond hill

Can not recommend

Sorry folks, I am being totally honest here. No way in hell is the coffee heated to 192F. This totally sucks if you are planning to use a travel mug daily. The taste of the coffee is just OK and I have tried several different brands. Perhaps coffee isn't something that should be made in 59 seconds?? The cup sizes 6, 8 & 10 oz all appear to be short. No lattes or cappucinos unless you purchase a $100 frother? I chose Keurig because of the coffee type selection appeared to be greater than the Tassimo unit. The Keurig does allow you to use your own ground coffee, a big plus. I'm not sure the Tassimo unit would have been the better choice because it has it drawbacks as well. However if all you get is a luke warm cup of coffee at best then what is the point of it all. Just disappointed with the performance of this unit overall.

Poorly Designed...

I love the coffee this machine makes...when it works. I'm on my third machine in a year. The 'short-cup' problem is a real flaw in the design, and there doesn't seem to be any plans to fix it on the part of Keurig. I'm going with an unnamed 'other' single-cup coffee maker...less coffee selection, but at least it works on a regular basis.

Poor Product But Excellent Customer Care

We bought the Keurig B60 six months ago and for the most part it made great coffee. From time to time it made short cups but in the last few weeks it was making short cups all the time. I called customer care and after going through some troubleshooting steps they sent me a new B65. Hopefully it will work better than its predecessor. My advice is to stay away from the B60 and get something that makes 12oz cups. I did not realize the largest cup setting was the same size as a medium Tim Horton's coffee and generally order a large or XL. 10oz fills my travel mug just over half way. I also bought the My Cup and I could never get it to work at all. If you are looking for something cost effective and easy on the environment get a french press travel mug because the K-cups cost around 50 cents each and they are not recyclable.

This is a great machine

I like this machine and the coffee so much, I sold it and bought the Cuisinart due to the larger capacity water reservoir. Although I was hesitant to use it at a dinner party this weekend, I was surprised at how quickly everyone got their first cup of fresh coffee, some stronger some weaker. Then when I asked if anyone wanted another, the usual "don't make a whole pot just for me" was quickly blasted out of the water. And no waste.

Excellent choice

Bought this item after doing some web research on the competition and am happy I made the decision to go with Keurig. I chose this over the lower priced Keurig mainly due to the larger water tank so I didn't have to add water each time, the 3 cup size settings and temperature control. It's made for coffee but can do other hot beverages although that's not the reason for my purchase. I bought it for making coffee. Surprised how quick it heats and makes good tasting coffee. Online Keuring store has a great deal of selection.

not for me

I've had this coffee machine for a year now, and I can't wait to get rid of it. Doesn't work properly. Constantly need to "de-scale" it. Sometimes you only get half a cup of coffee. Other times it works fine. Very unreliable. Also, mine is quite noisey. It does make good, hot coffee, but not worth all the trouble on a daily basis. I won't be buying this product again.

Had my Keurig Special edition for exactly 2 months when it started pumping water back into the holding "tank", resulting in only half the usual amount of water passing thru the K Cup....hence a "large" cup ended up being a small cup of coffee. Got hold of Keurig at their 1-800 number, explained the situation and after we tried a cleaning and reaming out of the nozzles, the machine still did not they offered to send me a brand new machine, no charge, as long as I sent the K Cup Holder from the malfunctioning machine back to Keurig within 30 days. The new machine has been here now for a week and is working fine. No complaints about the Keurig Customer relations, but Google Keurig Brewers and you will find a great amount end up being defective in a short period of time..after a year, you are out of luck as there will be no warranty.... Coffee is good though, very good, and we enjoy our 2 or 3 cups a day using this machine....

Keurig Rocks

So far so good with the Keurig. As with another review, we wasted coffee consistently and with this unit, that is not the case. The selection of coffees, teas and even hot chocolate is great. I was doubtful of this but after having it for a month, I do not know how we lived without it. As an aside, I enjoy cooking and when I needed hot water, I would have to boil it. Not anymore as this will give me hot water for re-hydrating mushrooms and for stocks.

Poor Choice

Unit broke after 2 months - written instructions failed to resuscitate - "800-support" also failed to get my Keurig working. Disappointed it is a disposable unit - because no factory repairs are available or offered. Very expensive per cup compared to the 50 plus cup yield when made in a standard coffee brewer at 10-20 cents per cup depending to your $5. to $10. per lb quality and brand that you choose - a bargain compared to 50 cents to 60 cents for each Keurig Koffee Kup. Weak to average flavour does not justify the cost per cup. Regret purchasing Keurig.

great product

I received this a gift. I drink tea and my wife drinks coffee. Old coffee maker wastes coffee as most require minimum 4 cups to brew. If you drink less than that...waste of time and money. I have to boil water to get tea. This does both and one cup at a time. No waste. I takes less than a minute per cup. You can customize each cup. Lots of flavours to choose from. Good for all

Quit working after 8 months

Got this as a gift from my wife in October of 2009. I like the varieties of coffees and teas you can get from all the different brands. I was pretty happy with this machine until it quit working after 8 months. It was used regularly, on average making 1-2 cups of coffee a day. The thing which really sucks is Keurig's repair center is in Massachusetts so shipping it there is going to be an arm and a leg as they are not light machines. I'm sure they'll make me pay the return shipping as well so it'll probably be about the same price to toss this one in the dump and go back to the old 12 cup coffee maker.

Keurig is HOT

I used to have a coffee unit by a well known maker that would grind the fresh coffee beans and then make a pot of coffee. The coffee was good. I then had coffee at a friends house and noticed how similar the coffee was to a store bought cup of coffee at any of the top coffee shops. When I asked how he made such good coffee I was told he used the KEURIG SINGLE SERVE Coffee Machine. I bought one. The Keurig Single Serve make Consistantly good coffee and also GREAT Tea. Temp of coffee (adjustable on some machines) was piping hot every time and the great thing is....... NO CLEAN UP! Just add water. Needless to say I bought a second coffee maker for my office and introduced others to this Fantastic Coffee maker. There is an excellent supply of a variety of coffee brands and flavours I dont know why anyone who drinks coffee would be without one.... Great selection of teas also..... I love the pepermint tea!

This unit is simple to use, makes great coffee, and saves me money everyday! I have used both the pre-fab K-cups and the "My K-Cup" filter basket. Both work great. I also bought a coffee grinder. Now in less time than it takes to make toast I can grind fresh coffee, brew a cup, complete the clean-up, and be sipping away. Tim's drive thru is now a drive by for me!

Too Expensive, Not hot enough

Pros ----- - Convenient and quick Cons ------ - Even at the hottest temperature setting it was not hot enough. No way the coffee was actually 192F. If you like you coffee hot, you won't like this maker. - K-cups are expensive when you break down the per cup cost. - K-cups are wasteful, not recyclable. - I tried just about everything to get the re-usable filter to make a good cup of coffee. Various amounts of grounds with different grind (fine, coarse etc.). Just never really worked well and would actually leak water most of the time because it would throw off the flow rate. - Given the above, you are stuck with K-cups and whatever flavour they offer at a very expensive prices. I bought this with the intent of using the re-usable filter so I could use the grounds that I prefer and love. Since that didn't work out I returned. Honestly I think this whole single serve craze is a sham and you end up getting locked into buying these sill K-cups. In my opinion, if you want a single serve coffee maker be buying a bodum. You can use any grounds you like, it creates no waste, is just as simpe, and you will save yourself a significant amount of money on the maker and not having to buy K-cups.

Great coffee maker

I am in love with this coffee maker. It is fast, and it is perfect for my lifestyle. In the morning I want a cup of coffee, but I don't want to make a whole pot. I can never drink that much, and clean-up is a hassle, not to mention it can take 20 minutes to brew a pot. This unit solves all that for me. in less than 90 seconds I have a perfectly brewed coffee with no clean-up. It has also become a hit with all my friends. When I entertain it allows me to make different coffee flavors for different people. It can switch from coffee to tea, and hot chocolate without missing a beat, and without clean-up in between. Also, for those rare times I run out of K-Cups, there is an option for making my own coffee in the optional "MY K-Cup" coffee filter. The unit also dispenses hot water at the touch of a button, great for when I want to make my own flavor of tea. It was really handy when I had a cold, and needed to drink some Neo-Citran tea. This coffee maker is even saving me money throughout the day. I'm no longer interested in stopping at a coffee shop when I can get a better coffee, faster from my own machine. This unit plus a thermal travel mug is all I need to get my caffeine fix throughout the day. Other little things that are very nice. You can set your own beverage temperature. Like your coffee boiling hot, or luke warm? you can adjust the temperature to whatever your pallet prefers. On/Off time can be set. If 90 seconds is too long to wait for a hot coffee, you can pre-set the unit to turn on and off when you like, so the coffee is always ready when you are. 3 different size settings. Small medium and large.(6, 8 and 10oz) I would have liked an even bigger size than 10oz, but I can easily make a 16oz beverage by first pressing the large option, then right away selecting the small. It takes a little longer, but nothing is perfect. I'm sure next year's models will come with a selector knob that you can choose anything from 6oz to 20oz, of course that is just wishful thinking on my part. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this coffee maker. I highly recommend it to anyone who like a hot beverage.

I absolutely love this machine! I have had mine for over 1 year and do not have 1 complaint. I use both the K-Cup Portion Packs as well as the reusable My K-Cup. When I am in a hurry or just feeling lazy I pop in a pre-made portion pack and when not I use my K-Cup. I love the versatility, I can save money by using the reusable My K-Cup and enjoy my favourite coffee, fresh brewed just for me! You will not regret this purchase!

Coffee is too weak

Coffee brewed by K cups is OK but not good to use their own reuseable k cups filter, hot water somehow leaks thur the filter without going thur coffee grounds.

Keurig - best i haver had

I have had my Keurig for the last 4 yrs now and it has never let me down. I cannot drink another type of coffee anymore. My mother, a die-hard coffee fan, will no longer drink coffee if it's not with a K-cup Keeps coffee hot, fresh and it's easy to use.

Fantastic for singles but 50 cents a cup.

These machines are great if you want a fast cup of coffee, but if you have 8 people for dinner it isn't so great as you have to make all the cups of coffee separately - the advantage is that you can make a different type for each person as there's a wide variety of coffees and teas available. It's a real conversation piece.Expensive cup of coffee though compared to the normal way of making 8 cups, but clean up is simple. I guess there's a trade-off.They say you can make 3 different sizes of coffee, but I like a strong coffee like Starbucks which isn't available in k-cups and all the k-cups are one size. So, if you want a large coffee, it is really really weak. The extra bold k-cups help a little, but not strong enough for me -- the only way I've found this works is to make a second cup and pour them in the mug together .. so figure on 1 a mug. There are so many varieties that you need to get a sampler pack of k-cups as many of them are really weaker than others and taste different. The Green Mountain hot chocolate is great too, but the Kahluha coffee is terrible. By running a cup of hot water only, we found that there's a little residue making the water cloudy, so if you don't want a little coffee in your tea run a cup of water through first...takes only a minute.Futureshop offers free shipping over a certain amount, but we found it took over a week to get them - might be faster to order them to be sent to your closest store.

Keurig Coffee Maker

It's coffee on demand, under a minute after pushing a button. How cool is thatI've had the Keurig for almost two years. Outside of having to make a pot of coffee for several people at once,I've been really happy with it, purchasing multiple machines as client gifts. If you get this machine, be sure to use filtered H2O to avoid scale. I run vinegar through it once every 8 months to optimize performance..kind of like maintaining an iron. You can buy either pre-packaged coffee or use the K-Cup - just put your favorite coffee into it and brew. There are lots of retail stores that carry pre-packaged coffee beyond this retailer...or you can order online varieties of coffees and teas. Rarely do I get grounds. If I do, I attribute it to either not keeping the machine still and flat during brewing or because of a flaw in a prepackaged coffee packet. If you feel like using tea bags, you can use the machine for hot water on demand with your choice of tea bag. I've never written a review before BUT this product is an exception. Would I buy it again YES.

I'm not a coffee freak by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy a nice cup on a daily basis. Prior to purchasing the Keurig, I was stuck with having to brew up a pot of coffee from which I would only ever get a single cup of decent, warm coffee before the rest went cold. The rest would invariably end up getting thrown out and I'd also have to deal with the mess of cleaning the pot and handling the grounds. All that has changed now. Living alone and working from home, the Keurig allows me to make perfect cups when I want without waste. There is always a downside, and with the Keurig the downside is cost It isn't cheap, nor are the k-cups when you work it out to a cost-per-cup basis. But you can do a few things to defray cost like pick up the reusable mesh strainer so you can load your own coffee into it. It probably does save me money though, compared to my perpetual over-brewing with regular makers.Overall, I'd highly recommend it unless you are on a tight budget.
