Great!

Glad I waited for these, very nice physical boxset, amazing deal for all the included content. Don't need to say anything about the movies themselves, if you're looking at these you know they are amazing and that the extended editions are the ultimate ones for fans.

NEVER SEEN THESE MOVIES BEFORE?

I have never seen these movies before and wanted too. But then forgot all about them. So I'm taking a risky chance by giving them 5 stars before even watching them, just because of all the overwhelming 5 star reviews I have read and seeing the small preview. Plus the 17 "Academy Awards" doesn't hurt either. I must have been in a coma when they were at the theaters!! So I hope I'm in for a real treat movie goers seeing these films for the first time. And on blu-ray ta boot!!So don't bother to call me cause I'm turning off my cell and unplugging my land line!!(lol) Jeffery North Vancouver!!

LOTR BLU-RAY ROCKS!

Great looking and sounding movies on Blu-Ray. But I gotta say that I am really sick of movie studios not making use of the blu-ray format for what it can do. One of those things is storage as it can store up to 50GB on a double layer disc while a single layer disc can hold 25BG - or up to 9hrs of HD video on a double layer. So why are they splitting the movie?? All these movies should be on a single Blu-ray disc. Isn't that part of the point of the format?? Come on studios get it right the first time when you release stuff. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 for this reason. Rest of the set is great.

Best Blu-Ray Ever Released!

I love these movies and already have the Extended DVD sets and considered ignoring the Blu-Ray versions as being essentially the same. I did reluctantly re-purchase and stunned at the image and sound quality when compared with the DVD versions. The brightness and clarity approx. 2x clearer is supported with 6.1 DTS-HD sound. The package itself is excellent. For each movie, they include: 2 Blu-Ray discs, 2 DVD extras, 1 DVD Behind the scenes (not provided before) and codes for the 3 Digital Extended Copies of the movies (expires Jun 26/12) to use on portable devices. For less than the original Extended DVDs, you receive Blu-Ray Movies (10+ hours), Extras DVD (26 hours) and electronic copy of the extended movies. This is likely the best Blu-Ray packaged deal ever offered for a movie.

Warning:

People I want you to be aware that the theatrical versions are not included in this bundle so if you have them. Then keep them. (Unless they are on DVD then go out and buy them again on Blu Ray)
