Amazing console

The games on this thing are gorgeous. Apparently it's still got quite a few tricks up its sleeve even after 7 years. Add in all of the media functionality like streaming music and videos off of my laptop wirelessly over the home network... AMAZING. Xbox Live works really well, and so does the Kinect sensor. But beware its much different from the Wii (which I also have) and requires actual life like movements rather than just flicking the wrist. Amazing video game console. No wonder it's been the best-selling for a while now... Can't be beat!

So good I am tired...

We've had the Wii for several years now, and Kinect simply blows the Wii technology out of the water. I want to sell all my Wii stuff now...but I like too many of the games to do that. But, I definitely want to sell my balance board...seems like useless technology! The Kinect sensor is pretty darn smart. You set up profiles and it remembers you (height and body shape, I imagine). We bought Disneyland Adventures with this and have had so much fun with it. Kinect does have some downfalls: you need good lighting and a lot of space or you'll be very, very frustrated. My youngest is 6 and she's had a few hissy fits trying to get the darned thing to recognize her movements or her voice sometimes (although me and my 8 year old have now mastered the movements and speech required to navigate effectively). I am wondering if she's jus too darned small! A friend of mine got the 4GB bundle on sale for boxing day and we bought the 250GB on sale prior to Christmas for a hefty premium. I am not convinced that buying the 250GB bundle was worth the extra money, but it did come with a free game download (Carnival Games) and a free 3 month subscription to Xbox Live. I am enjoying Xbox live...I am trying to decide if I am going to keep it after my free trial is up, but I think it may have me hooked. There is lots of free apps, games and free programming (and programming and games you can purchase, as well). I am really hoping that this machine stands the test of time. I've heard some bad things about their longevity. Our Wii has been banged up pretty bad by our kids and it keeps going. Something tells me we need to be a lot more delicate with the Xbox, so I am telling them HANDS OFF Mom's toy! LOL!
