Solid!

Yes, this controller is expensive but it works very well and is built to last. It's nicely balanced, perfectly sized and weighted, ergonomic and it has good grip despite being made of slippery plastic (the grip is due to its shape and how it fits in your hands more than anything else.) The controls are placed perfectly. The mechanical feel of every button is superb. There's solid, tactile feedback on all of them. The rumble feature also works very well. There are also no issues with the wireless interface, it just operates without any problems. One subtle hint that this controller is built to last is the coloured buttons (A, B, X and Y). The labels are actually cast into the button in a two-step moulding process. This is expensive and is only done when the manufacturer actually cares about how long something lasts and is willing to go the extra step and incur the extra expense in doing so. Even as the button top wears the label will still be perfect. OK so I normally don't gush about Microsoft products but this controller is really that good and is worth the expense.

Excellent, but expensive

These controllers are proven, they're smart, comfortable, perfect weight, and are durable. Ive been using the same controller for 3 years now, and its still working great, but the left toggle is starting to wear out, so I will be purchasing a new one soon. Still, 3 years of almost daily gaming is really impressive. My only issue is the price is still quite high for a controller.
