Big Fan

Got this when it was on sale (50% off). For the price, it cannot be beat. Very compact, solid construction, looks good, sound is surprisingly deep and rich and BT connectivity is easy. I've since recommended it to many and bought extras for gifts. FYI - I would have given it 5 stars, but it's not an option on the iPad (4 max).

Great For The Price I Paid!

I'd like to start off this review by saying I purchased this unit when it was [price]. Based on that price, this is an exceptional BT speaker! It produces a louder volume than you would expect from it's size, and seems to be quality built. If I were to review this item based on the non-sale price my review would be not as positive. Much better speakers can be purchased elsewhere on-line for about $20 cheaper. If you do your research you can get a lot more bang for your buck! I want to address claims that this unit has great bass. It does not. Do you hear some bass? Yes, but it is minimal. Basically this unit sounds like a very good clock radio, with a little more oomph to the sound. The highs are what is very prominent. I'd go so far as to say if you are sensitive to high frequencies do not purchase this. The sound is overly bright bordering on tinny sounding, but clarity is a good name for it. The sound is very clear, and there is minimal distortion at high volumes. If you can snag this item for the price I paid, want something very small & compact, and you don't require much bass to enjoy your music, I suggest picking it up. You probably won't find a much better speaker for [price].

Simply Awesome for the price

I was skeptical about picking this unit up, simply because this is an older version. When i got the unit, i was simply shocked. Its about the size of my palm but when you play any songs, one would be shocked the amount of power coming out of the unit. LOVE IT.

Monster sound.

Just bought this product a couple days ago to use during eveyday things like cleaning, or when I go to the park to play soccer. Conclusively, this speaker is astounding! Crazy sound for the price ($[...])... Fills up the entire soccer field, period.

Clarity in name only

Although inexpensive, I was extremely disappointed. The store did not have an unpackaged speaker and the salesperson assured me that it was a very good speaker, and that I could easily return it (which I did). When I took it out of the box, it was about half the size that I thought it was going to be. The sound was tinny with very little bass. I returned it the next day.

go for ihome IBT16 instead

good enough to keep it but made a side by side comparaison lately with the Ihome IBT16 and the IBT16 sound quality and bass blow off the monster's one

Very good for the price!

Very good speaker for the price, I have got 2 already and might get a 3rd one before they stop selling it. Of course it does not beat BOSE but it's almost 1/4 of the price...

Little speaker, monster sound.

I'm really impressed by the amount and quality of sound this little speaker puts out for it's size and price.

Amazing bluetooth speaker!

I just bought it a few days ago and I'm already in love with it. Don't get me wrong, I like beats by dre. If anyone is looking for a speaker, this is the way to go.

Excellent value to price ratio

Bought this a few weeks back for an outdoor gathering. Was looking for a portable, battery-powered speaker to produce acceptable sound. Did a fair amount of on-line research and narrowed it down to this unit and a 'soundfreaq' unit. Couldn't find the soundfreaq so took this monster home and .... our guests were blown away by the sound! The speaker generated a TON lot of positive feedback ...on sound quality ... on the small footprint .... on how long it lasted (4-5 hours). Great value for the money!

Great Little Speaker

Built-in rechargeable battery. Directions for use a little sparse. Turn ON and plug in to usb to recharge it. The blue light will go out when fully charged (over 3 hours). To pair it to an iPhone, turn it ON and hold the phone/link button - you will hear an up tone - continue to hold button until the blue light flashes to red and blue. You now have about 3 mins to go to your phone SETTINGS -> Bluetooth screen to pair it. I'm not sure on how long the battery will run before it goes flat. (I find user reviews very helpful when I'm shopping - that's why I posted this)

Monster ClarityHD

I was looking for a decent portable speaker and the ability to make/receive phone calls (I have the Lifeproof case which kind of muffles the sound). I haven't made any phone calls but I have played music and a Digital Copy movie. In all honesty, I was surprised at how well it sounded because in the past any small speaker I had heard sounded weak and tinny, this was more full sounding. It won't replace my Bose Acoustimass 10 or any other home theatre speaker and won't compete with good quality computer speakers either but it will give those cheaper ones some competition . Pairing it with my iPhone 4s was seamless. I also found if I tilted the unit up a bit it sounded even better...half inch or so. I wish it had come with a hard case instead of a fabric bag. Anyhow, I would recommend this unit for those who are looking for a nice mid-range speaker to pair with a smartphone, tablet, or travelling with a laptop.

Corrected Review

In an earlier review I mentioned that the volume was low. After checking I found the volume on the speaker. OK… I should have read the manual first. So on reflection the sound is acceptable for the size and price of unit. Easy to use of iPad, MacBook Pro and Android Phone (Galaxy Nexus).

Great Portable Speaker

I use this product everyday in every environment possible; my house, a buddy's place, the beach, the bathroom even. Everywhere I can. It has great sound for a little speaker, and the rechargable battery is extremely good on battery life (granted, I never run the battery down on bluetooth streaming music alone, but through auxillary in). Definitely a recommendation to all my friends and family.

Ok but that is it... just OK

On a positive side the unit is small and portable. But the sound is hardly stellar. I have the volume cranked to the max and hardly fills the room.

Exceptional Sound - Tiny Unit

I, like many others was skeptical when this was presented to me as an alternative to Bluetooth heavyweights like the Bose and Jawbone speakers. I turned out to be pleasantly with the device. Connecting is a bit annoying, but once it is, the sound makes up for the effort every time.

Ok But...

This speaker has amazing sound there is no doubt about that .. How ever if your using with a iphone or ipod i would look else where .. Tho is does work its a pain in the butt to pair up with everytime and use. Also every time you turn the unit off you have to adjust the volume on the unit all over again. I wouldn't recommend this for iphone/ipod .. There is another version of this called the iClairity HD that is supposed to be more iPhone friendly .

Not for phone use

The sound quality is amazing on it. I recommend it to anyone who has an otter box and can't dock their phone. I bought it to be a speaker phone in my car and office, however the speaker phone part of this is lacking in quality, however for music and a good speaker it's phenomenal! I'm using this with an iPhone 4S

The sound is awesome and the battery life is amazing. So easy to use - took it camping and we took turns syncing our devices up to it to listen to different playlists. I didn't really know what I was looking - but this is exactly what I needed. I would recommend it to anyone.

I bought these speakers about four months ago and they are excellent. I have them in Haiti where I work and use them with my iPad to watch movies and listen to music. I needed something compact to travel with and since they are rechargeable I can use them anywhere. We don't always have electricity so this fits the bill perfectly. They may seem a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. I would recommend them to anyone needing compact speakers with great sound.

I was looking for a docking station for my Blackberry, nothing. The salesman said what about this, I look at this tiny thing, are you kidding me. I'm old school big speakers big sound. To my amazement it sounds fantastic. I have it in the boat, workshop, tent everywere. Best purchase I've made in a long time. Everybody I show it to go out and buy one.

These are great. Very good sound to come out of such a small box. About 1.5x bigger than a larger computer wireless mouse. Charges quickly by USB. Easy to pair with my Nexus One and my Xoom. I have played with many small speakers and this one has awesome sound. The only thing i don't like is the controls on the right side can be easily accidentally hit when picking up (but i don't think it will take long to get use to that). As a rule i don't like Monster - but they may be winning me over.......
