Sony PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter

This product is a great add-on for any PlayStation Move compatible "First Person Shooter" games on the market.

Decent For KZ3, Terrible For Socom 4

Some people just like holding something that feels like a gun, and for them this might be satisfying. I didn't find it added to the experience in any enjoyable way. In fact, it just made playing more uncomfortable... it's considerably heavy compared to playing with a dualshock, or with the PS Move in hand, and shouldering it means you have to often turn your torso to make turns in-game or line up shots. Complaining about this might make me sound lazy, but I'm willing to wager that if you presented a soldier with a move controller, and said it did exactly what a bulkier, heavier rifle could do, they'd always choose the Move controller. You don't need a shoulder stock to play video games... because it's not a real weapon, there's no force being driven into your shoulder, so it serves no real purpose other than to make it feel and appear gun-like, and get in your way. The most fun I had with the Sharp Shooter, was when I was playing Killzone 3, which it seems it was the most designed for. I had heard and read that the Sharp Shooter was designed cooperatively with Zipper Interactive, the makers of Socom 4, but I found the controls in Socom 4 to be a mess compared to Killzome 3. I'd find it really hard to believe that there's someone out there who enjoys playing Socom 4 with the Sharp Shooter. I had to recalibrate constantly, since, for some reason, it liked to eventually push my crosshair about a foot to left of where I was aiming. A lot of thought went into the design, since the buttons are very accessible, and it's not shabbily constructed, but this accessory did not improve my accuracy or my enjoyment, and for those reasons, I decided to return it.

gun nut

anybody else notice there's a spot on top of the gun that looks like it fits a scope? otherwise, the gun itself is a fun accessory to have. I haven't tried it with any shooting game other than killzone but i gather if it's just a straight shooter that doesn't require running around it would be very fun to use. the stick takes some getting used to.

Awesome

I have to be honest but the first game I tried this attachment with was killzone 3 and i got very frustated at the point that i did not wanted to use this attachement anymore. But i cant really make a review with only 1 hour of use since this is like (learning to play again). Now i have like 3 weeks playing this and i must say that I wont go back to the dualshock controler anymore. I manage to setup the sharpshooter and i feel very confortable with it. I play sitting on my couch and with little direction i got so much precision in a way I cant believe it and i keep getting better. As i said it would require a lot of practice to actually enjoy this but when you manage you wont go back.

Great PS3 Accessory

I have been using the sharpshooter with Killzone 3 online multiplayer for a few days now and have nothing but good things to say about it. The buttons couldn't be laid out in better positions, the controls are comfortable and easy to maneuver and after a couple hours of play it should feel quite natural. I find I have excellent accuracy with the sharpshooter, and there are plenty of options to adjust the sensitivity to your liking. After a bit of a learning curve in the beginning now after 4 hours I am ending up in #1 on most matches, so I don't feel at all like this holds me back from the dualshock controller. In fact it is a welcome change and is breathing new life into my neverending onling FPS journey. I was playing COD Black Ops constantly until this came out and now I'm not looking back. It can be a little frustrating at first but once you get used to it, getting kills and running around around extremely rewarding. Also, to melee enemies do a quick poke or to reload pump the handle - awesome. Highly recommended, definitely worth the money if you already have the move setup. I wouldn't recommend paying for the move and the sharphooter if you don't have ample amount of free time to enjoy them, but if you're a casual to hardcore gamer it will be worth your while.
