Rocketfish

I purchased one of these units to play upstairs while I am dry walling and down at the fire pit while I am "playing". The pit is around 50 yards but is line of sight to my computer and it is crystal clear. The monaural sound and bass are surprisingly good for the price and I would buy a second when I can afford it

Got What I Expected

The Rocketfish wireless speaker system does just what I wanted it to. The sound quality is not the greatest, but this unit was bought to provide sound effects for a stage play, simulating a radio. I am now able to control the sound effects from my computer in the booth and the sound projects as if a real radio is playing, a real telephone is ringing, etc. I am looking forward to using this unit out doors this summer. The range appears good and the controls easy to use.

Disappointing

I bought this device on Saturday to play music in the backyard. The pairing was simple enough when I plugged in 10th from the hub in the living room. However it wouldn't work 20 ft from the hub into the backyard. I even tried it in the house again upstairs and while it connected it kept dropping the signal and crackling. I am returning this device ASAP!

No more wires, works with AirTunes

Just got one of these and already love it. I plugged it into my Apple Airport Express so I can use my iPhone to control the music from iTunes in my back yard. So far, the reception is perfect up to at least 30 ft on battery power. Sound is solid, and the bass makes the deck vibrate when it's on. No complaints so far. I might but some rechargeable batteries though, it takes 8 C cells which might get costly quick. The speaker charges them when plugged in, so I only have to get the batteries themselves which is nice.

Horrible range / Waste of money.

First off i would like to state that I am a big fan of Rocketfish's wireless hubs and receivers. The RF-RBKIT works fabulously and i highly recommend it to anyone who would like to add speakers in areas that cannot be easily wired without problems. With that being said I cannot recommend this speaker. I purchased this speaker about a month ago. The idea was to have a speaker in my kitchen tucked away in the corner of the room that we could bring outside onto the deck whenever we wanted music out there. The Rocketfish HUB is located in a centralized area on the main floor of my open concept house. I have 3 of the RF-RBREC receivers already hooked up to the hub that work flawlessly. This speaker did connect easily to the hub straight out of the box, but it did not sound very good. I found the range on the unit to be horrible. I tried it on my front porch about 25 feet from the HUB and it was constantly cutting in and out and simply wasn't loud enough. I tried it on my back deck which is about 15 feet from the hub and although it was a little better, it still encountered far too many dropouts. The other thing is the speaker is a lot bigger and bulkier then i would have liked. For the price it simply did not work very well for me, no matter what i tried. I cannot recommend this product and i returned my RF-RBWS02 after using it for about a week and bought another RF-RBREC receiver which works like a champ.
