Worst box ever!

Not sure how Rogers can keep cable clients with faulty equipment. This hd box constantly shuts off after 15 minutes only to take 10 minutes to reboot and load. You pay for a service which is provided by using faulty equipment. Way to go Rogers for providing customers with a piece of junk!

Feels 10-20 Years Out of Date

Leave it to Rogers to come out with a cable box that has 1-2 delay when pressing any button on the remote. Devices from the 80's provided more responsive experiences.

Not recommended at this time

The box worked very well for a few weeks. Rogers did a software update recently, and we are no longer authorized to view any channels with this box. Rogers has been trying to fix it for 2 days and is now sending a man to the house. No TV here for 4+ days as a result. When the technician came, he tried a 'hard reboot', but it did not work. Had to downgrade to the old model 4290, which is not nearly as good, although it does work. DO NOT buy or rent this box until Rogers has the software issues resolved.

Time Lag Using Remote

There's a 5-10 second lag when scrolling through channels with the remote. Very frustrating.

Please do not buy this unit

Dear Rogers customers, Please stay away from this unit as far as possible. I have two such units and they are both working as bad, with no difference. First of all, if you re-boot the unit the time required by the unit to recover all the channels is around 22 minutes and you lose the appetite to watch TV. Obviously you have to call Rogers to re-authorize the unit. This process was automated at some point, but now is not. Second of all, from time to time Rogers is realigning the channels and as a result of this process there are lost channels that are not shown (or black). In order to watch those lost channels you need to un-plug the unit and wait 10 seconds and plug it back. The 10 seconds are just a bliss because you have to wait 22 minutes after to recover. It is extremely frustrating especially today with the modern technology. All the frustration and longer boot time are explained only by the latest firmware upgrades Rogers did. Before, this unit was decently working only worth two stars. Now is a great disappointment. I would give it one star with indulgence. Please do not buy this unit.

Rogers Nextbox HD Terminal

Bought my HD Terminal with a 55" LED HDTV. Great picture quality, but that is most likely attributable to the TV. The remote control that comes with the Rogers Netbox HD Terminal will not synchronize with my audio system which requires me to now use 2 remotes. (My audio system was synced and controlled by the Rogers Digital Terminal remote that this purchase replaced). There is a bit of lag time when changing channels, resulting in a momentary still image on screen. All and all, a better viewing experience with HD compared to regular digital.

if you have cable you need HD cable!

i just bought a plasma 720p and this box has takes the old blurry and grainy looking cable channels into the year 2011! if you have an HD plasma or LCD you need this box, setup was easy called rogers plugged it in and done! now every channel is sharp bright and colorful as it should be the price is steep but its worth it or enjoy the blur of regular cable!

good luck ... you'll need it!

good luck ... you'll need it! I haven't had any luck with mine. I'm on my third one and most of the channels are unwatchable due to pixelation. None of the units I've owned has lasted more than two years. Unfortunately, I live in a building where rogers is the only game in town so I guess I'll have to shell out more cash again.

Cisco Explorer HD Cable box

Picked it up today Sat Nov 20/2010 & so far it's working great. The quality of the picture improved just like they said it would, watching television is fun again. Set up was very easy, matter of minutes. I am happy with my purchase, time to watch tele.
