Good affordable tablet

Got this for my kids. They love it. I wanted something simple and affordable and this fits the bill perfectly. Love all the android apps. Great to watch movies. The camera/ video camera isn't the greatest (it won't replace a camera) but it's fine to Skype/google hangout with when I'm travelling.

Suits My Need

Reqd a smaller device than my laptop for traveling. The price and performance were right. I knocked my rating down a star only because the device is quite slippery so it needs a case, and the micro memory card is a bit of a challenge to inset and remove. Great resolution and fast enough. (I don't play complex games on it).

Excellent product

That tablet is amazing. It is the second one that I bought. I compared it with the Tab3 and it is not worth it to buy that one. Tab2 is great!

Well worth the money.

If you are looking for a high performance professional tablet, this one may not meet your request, but as a casual user,It a great buy. reading books, play music and videos,e-mail and home work, gaming, it does everything smoothly. I noticed some lag when i was playing some high graphic games, but it wasn't too bad. again like said, It has great value for the low price.

Solid, peppy, affordable tablet

Well-built, sleek, lightweight, peppy, intuitive to use - and affordable. Perfect tool for those (like myself) who are on the go a lot and need to check email, do online research, read books/PDF files, etc. I'm not into gaming, so I can't tell how it performs in that department. Lasts long on one battery charge (approx. 3.5 hrs when using it non-stop, approx. 8 hrs with screen turned off between uses). Comes preloaded with some very useful apps, like a text processor and PowerPoint-like software. Takes very decent pics and hi-res video, its 2 tiny speakers offer surprisingly decent sound. It won't replace your "real" computer, but will make your work/life easier/mobile.

Okay tablet for the price point

I bought the Samsung because it was cheaper than Apple and Microsoft offerings. It is okay with some games like Bingo, Tetris, etc. I found the touch action delay acceptable. Sometimes, I check what is running and shut them. In its task manager, close application then clear it. It does run Jelly Bean and and is still slow. Periodically, it does have problems with the micro SD card i.e. not recognize (music skips and static sounds). So I reformat the Kingston card and contents because I could not retrieve the content. External speakers not very loud. In general, good to listen to music with headphones, has access access to many Android applications, plays VOB if you have the right player, GPS works with free maps (no wi-fi needed), Wi-fi works for surfing, works better with Firefox than in-built browser, flash player works but need to fuss with it, reading pdf/books good Good for traveling and as a general use light tablet for entertainment.

decent tablet

I am a Medicine student and have found this tablet very handy for reading books on pdf format as well as chm files, you may download any app for this or could use previous installed apps for this. Battery life is not to complain and will last more than a full day with heavy use and a couple days with light use. You have plenty of apps to use from the app store [...] I wouldn't recommend it for Office files although there are lots of apps for reading and editing office files none of them are high quality apps and you have too many limitations for that. Gaming is pretty decent even though I almost never used it for that. Could be a student best friend. Browsing is decent... But I would definitely recommend [a different] tablet for OFFICE and Internet explorer heavy users.

No SIM card slot

I am not a tech savoy person and bought this tablet about six months ago. I just found out that I can not utilize any type of data plan because the tablet does not have a SIM card slot. Therefore I can not use the internet anywhere except where there is WiFi available. Since I am on the road quite a bit this is decidedly inconvenient.

Worth the money

Had the tab 2 for a couple of weeks. Quick response time, when the screen is touched. Although the screen would not take time to response when screen was dirty with finger prints. Screen protector may help with this issue. Biggest problem twice when the tablet went into stand by mode, it would not come back on when tried to come out of stand by mode. Had to plug the tablet in and wait 5 minutes to charge. This occurred when the battery level was at 100%. Trying to set up workgroup network at home seems to be a little more changeling. Over all a good product.

Samsung 10.1

I am not at all technical but am quite willing to work my way through a manual to learn about my new tablet. Unfortunately there was no manual and after trying unsuccessfully to find and download one from the internet, I was ready to return the Samsung 10.1 to the store. Not impressed with the lack of support. However, I was very impressed with the employee at Future Shop who walked me through everything I had not been able to figure out myself. Had it not been for him, I would have returned the tablet and avoided all Samsung products for the rest of my unnatural life! I now love my tablet!

I looked and read about quite a few before buying this tablet. It was well worth it user friendly great screen. Has many good features with sd card and great apps to choose from. this item has many good reviews about it and the reviews are right and helped me make the right choice on this tablet. I find it faster then any other computer i have had.

like it

Not the fastest and not the one with the most bells and whistles BUT using it is an easy Experience and the apps that are included make it a very good Experience for common usages. Have tried apple and other android tablets and this one out of the box felt the best for to use for me.

Great product

I've had mine for about 6 months now, before I bought it I wasn't sure what I would do with a tablet, I find myself using it all the time now. -Great speakers -Some of the preloaded apps are very good (peel remote wow) -The screen is good quality and bright. -MicroSD slot, very good and not available on most tablets The build quality is solid and I've had no problems with it, I have to charge it 1-2 times a week depending on how much I'm using it.

I love my Tab 2

I was unsure of my need to purchase this item as I wasn't sure I needed another communication tool. However, since I've received it, I just love it. It's a computer, gamer, TV, video all in one. I also purchased a blue tooth keyboard and leather cover for the Tab 2. Now it's like a laptop. It's small enough to be portable. I love the bigger screen especially when watching videos or Netflix. I recommend it to anyone wanting a laptop for general purposes.

Samsung 10.1 16gig tablet

I love my new tablet. I purchased this for business and personal purposes and it works great. It's small enough to bring with me to appointments and large enough to be easy on my eyes. I have an HTC android phone with Hotspot so as long as I have my phone with me, I always have access to an internet connection. The apps are great and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of them. I guess my only complaint would be the lack of having a version of MS Excel that could handle macros. My Guest Sign In worksheet requires macros and I'll have to continue using my laptop for this task (until I find an app that can do the same thing). All things considered, I would highly recommend this product, especially if you'll be using it with your android smart phone.

Love it!

The best feature that isn't available on other tablets is the ability to insert a microSD card. The smart remote that comes pre-loaded works perfectly with my TV/DVR. I use this far more than I thought I would.

IMHO Overall best tablet for the best price

Depending on whether or not your syncing with a Blackberry or an iPhone I guess... otherwise, I researched the life out of android tablets to be in sync with my HTC. This one always came out on top for what I wanted. Lightweight, fast, attractive, Android's ICS, full of built in surprises. It's sturdy, although I still strongly recommend a case.. AND an SD card, although this is the only place it fell short. I've been surfing around the blogs and noone seems sure if it's Samsung or the OS but with the Tab 2 you cannot move apps to the SD card (even with an app) because of permissions. You can move, pics, videos and music though. Would still be nice to move off the apps in order to keep the speed up. That's the ONLY thing that kept me from rating 5 stars!

i would not recommend for buying

It is a nice tablet, looks thin and very nice speakers, the screen is very bright and has a better screen resolution than ipad 1 and 2, i love how it has an ir blaster to control your home theatre and tv. Downside is that it is a very slow processor it is weaker than the first model with the tegra 2, touch wiz UI is very ugly to me and has alot of lag this is more of a media entertainment device, they say it has 1gb of ram but it actually has 612mb of ram, if you're going to be play games on this device you should not buy this because it is very laggy and crashes with 3d games, but overall this is a good tablet for media

The best of the bunch

About a year ago, I didn't know anything about tablets. I tried about eight, 10" android tablets. I eventually settled on this one, because it has the best combination of features for someone like me: moderately interested in technology, not a geek, and with almost zero time to experiment. Smooth movement, quick response, thin and light. It has very long battery life compared to similar tablets. With others, you have to plan to charge each day, and/or remember to turn off if not using for hours. You can leave this one on for days of sporadic use. The only things that use up the battery are reading e-books and (my son) playing Angry Birds.

great tablet

I have been reviewing tablets for months now and this one won. It's easy to use, nice screen, great sound. I would have given it a 5 star but you can't print from this tablet, you can install a app but it's not the same. I was so impressed with this tablet I got the wife the 7" one.

Very solid tablet.

This tablet is a very solid. The battery on it, is pretty decent, and it hardly ever has any issues, like freezing in programs or lagging out and running really slow. Overall I would recommend this to someone else, if they were in the market for a tablet. There is of course always room for improvement with any device, and this would be no exception, but for the price tag, a very good value for your money.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Have had this tablet for a year now and like it very much. Just bought 2 more for the family. (Tab 2). Everyone likes the speed, smoothness and the ease of use. Very easy to personalize the screens and there are more and more apps coming out for the Android OS every day. Plus the price is way lower than the Apple products. All in all very pleased.

Worth your money

If your hesitant to buy this model don't be. I am one of those people who hesitates to buy things and i was for this; but it is really good!. Now i know reading these things are long and boring because some people don't give any details so here: Pros: -good sound *great keyboard options (three different keyboards to choose from) -VERY USER FRIENDLY (took me no time at all to understand this!) -great price -HD quality -amazing brightness -Polaris Office (great for students! this is awesome and also download FreeNote, Not Everything very good other app for notes) Cons: -USB/ Charger wire not very long, you have to be a close disstance to the wall -force of creating an account for google/gmail (though capability to connect to hotmail only to get apps you need a gmail account sort of like for itunes) -no stylus (pen for tablet) included

Great tablet for the price

I own 2 samsung tablets, the 7 & 10 inch. Great screen, easy to use and the battery last long enough. Android is great and the touch screen works well. The audio could be better but for a tablet it's not bad at all. Note that the 10 inch has 2 speakers. I like to use skype and it does the job very well, something I could not do on my blackberry playbook. I wish it had an LED screen but perhaps later.

Had for 2 months. Worth the money. Being a Sammy its not perfect though. Have had to reboot a couple of times, and have to shut down youtube and reopen a few times aswell. Living up to my expectations

I have been using this tablet for 2 weeks. I think the tablet is well worth what I paid. I also purchased the asus t300 tablet with its quad core. I took that one back within one week. It could not out perform the tab2. I would like this tablet more if it had of memory, but is still plenty. This is the only tablet I found that has front firing speakers, something that is important to me. I am not disappointed with my purchase.

Sucks bigtime

I've had this tablet for 2 weeks, the operating system is restrictive, a lot of google related apps. You can't really personalize it. It does not open webpages. I tried pages on it that i opened with my iphone, and they would not work on this tablet. And you can't really do much with it. It's not worth it. A real tablet is Ipad, or if you own a smartphone already don't even bother its the same thing with a bigger screen. Go for a laptop. That's just my opinion.

Totally love it

This is my first tablet. I'm really glad Samsung decided to make the Tab 2 more affordable so more people can get it. The best thing about this tablet is that the speakers are on the FRONT. Seems like all phones and tablets put the speakers on the back and it totally ruins the sound. Otherwise, it runs so smoothly, the screen is fantastic, and I love how thin it is. I'm going to live in London for a year, and I'm using this tab as my only computer while there!

Best for Bucks

It does everything i need flawlessly. Browsing is like a breeze, very cool and smooth. I did lot of research before i decided on this. Tablet is nothing without a nice browsing experience. Only other competitor was Asus TFt 300 which completly crashed when i tested at future shop. I tested both side by side. Samsung ruled in everything except camera which i dnt think is a bid deal as all of the phones have 8mp camera nowadays. i think its pretty awesome. I will highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for android tablet. but i woult not compare this with ipad. As Ipad was much better when i compared with samsung so i think it will be wrong to compare these two.

Good but not great performance

I just wanted to reply to Kancho's review. I also tested both this model and the Asus tf300 for about 3 hours between the two of them. I tested at 3 different locatiosn to make sure my testing was correct and that it was not just a bad model, but I found with all 3 of the Samsung's there was noticeable lag when using the tablet. Just moving from menu screen to menu screen was very laggy. Launching apps was much slower than the Asus tablet. The tf300 was very fast, no lag at all anywhere, and the build quality was as good with the Asus as the Samsung. I bought the tf300 and it is amazing, no problems at all. In the end do your own testing and decide based on that.

l had this tablet for three weeks already, I was quite happy with it before, but last night l tried to reply my Email in Chinese, but l found out this tablet didn't support the Chinese input. So I had to switch to a computer to send my Email in Chinese writing. It's so disappointing to me. So if you want to write any Chinese, this is not the right tablet for you.

Samsung vs asus

Originally, I was planning to buy the asus transformer tf300. After playing with both demo tablets for a good 3 hours, I settled on the samsung. For those of you in a similar position, I would definetely take the samsung. For one, the build quality is superb and the PLS screen and gorilla glass is really a one up over the asus. Not to mention the cheaper pricetag. For those benchmark fanatics, i noticed no real world lag or jerkiness despite the tab's OMAP4430 dual core processor. The tegra 3 quad core in the asus only showed its advantage in a handful of nvidia optimized games with the extra special effects. Even while playing mkv files at 1080, there is no lag on the tab.

Tab 2 10.1

My wife bought this tablet just yesterday and my first impressions so far are extremely positive. I have a hard time putting it down. Very fluid and great interface. I will be using this primarily as a comic book reader. It does however do a superb job playing movies and browsing web pages. What blew me away is that it even acts as a remote control. I just had to select Sony and it automatically recognized my Bravia. Same for my cable box. now i can mess around when my wife watches TV. The tablets speakers sound great though not very loud. Display is clear and shows smudges like most. Overall i am very happy with the tablet. I recommend anyone to take the 2 year futureshop warranty. It includes something like 2 free cleanings and a worldwide hotline to repair it. I forgot the specifics but if it has to be repaird more than x many times you receive a replacement.

Simply Amazing...

I just purchased this a couple of days ago, and I haven't been able to put it down. This Tablet makes my Ipad 3rd generation look like a toy. Samsung really knows how to build quality products that communicate so well with other DLNA certified products. The TV Remote app is more than just a remote as you can select genres and choose shows and movies that are on at the current time. It controls the Rogers box I have very effectively. This Tablet is simply the best!!

Killer tablet

I've had this for over two months and no issues. I travel every week. This tablet is used for alarm clock, movies, music, books, Skype etc. Great little buddy on the road. Both cameras are great. Battery life is excellent. Sound quality superb. Apps work flawlessly. Books are easy to read. Gyro is very responsive. Touch screen is outstanding. Import export of files is easy via Bluetooth or WiFi. Pairs easily. The outer border around the screen makes this device easy to manipulate. This is an excellent tablet for the money.
