It's Blizzard.

While certainly not a bad addition to "the World", Cataclysm failed to (if you pardon the pun) wow me. There are a few new mechanics, such as underwater mounts, and a number of great visuals (well, great within WoW's graphical standards) like the new spell effects and numerous (and I mean numerous) cutscenes. However, those are just perks and really don't add much to the game's overall gameplay. And as per Blizzard standard, they have only a few new models for items and reuse them over and over. Oh. And the item scaling from WotLK to Cataclysm (epic versus greens/rares) is even more unbalanced than Burning Crusade. Bottom line: worth playing? If you're a longtime fan, yes. There should be enough to revitalize your interest in the game. If you were an on and off player during WotLK? No. All Cataclysm is focusing on this time is the endgame. If you weren't a fan/didn't have enough time for the endgame (where the real fun is), there leaves little to be desired. That is unless you like rolling new characters over and over again just to explore the new Worgen and Goblin starting zones.

Everything you could have wanted.

I got WoW Cataclysm the day of release from the local Futureshop and rushed home as fast as I could to test out all of the new features. It's fantastic! Practically everything that WoW players wanted has come in this expansion! Everything is far more fun, faster, complex, and balanced. If you play World of Warcraft, or maybe if you have in the past and quit due to it being unsatisfactory, you MUST try Cataclysm. It is a new WoW.

Waste of time

Another terrible WoW game, I just can't understand why they keep making these failures. Bad graphics, awful story line and mechanics. Knitting is more fun than this game.

Based on last beta

With access to the beta, Blizzard has ALLOT to correct in a month. Everything visually looks great and flying around in Azeroth is a welcome change. Expect long waiting patch Tuesdays!
