Nikon D3200 DSLR camera: Amazing photos, amazingly easy.

Nikon D3200 DSLR camera:
Amazing photos, amazingly easy.

It used to be that to shoot like a pro, you had to invest in a boatload of camera gear and spend countless hours familiarizing yourself with your new equipment and your new found passion. Thankfully digital technology has changed all that for the better, and when it comes to making photography easier, more accessible and turning photo first-timers into seasoned shooters, Nikon’s been blazing trails.

The new compact, lightweight and durable Nikon D3200 HD-SLR is one of those cameras that puts super-high-quality gear in a package that anyone can use to shoot stunning images. Its 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor is the most powerful they’ve ever put in an HD-SLR of this level. Combine that with easy-to-use, intuitive controls and Nikon’s world-renowned lenses, and you’ve got a camera that will astound you.

What's new.

Mega-awesome.

You probably hear a lot of talk about megapixels in the digital camera world. So more megapixels just means bigger files, right? Partly. But more information captured by a larger sensor also results in a greater dynamic range (the difference between highlights and shadow) and truer colours and tones being recorded. And with the D3200’s 24.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor, you get sharper, richer images – even in low-light. Couple that with Nikon’s acclaimed EXPEED 3 image processing, and you get super-fast operation and exceptional image capture.

That large sensor also gives you an ISO range of 100 to 6400 for shooting in very low light without a flash or in very bright light with zoom, macro, fixed focal length or wide aperture lenses. For extreme low-light situations, you can set the ISO to 12800 equivalent sensitivity!

Shoot like a pro.

The beauty of the D3200 lies in its amazingly intuitive controls. Nikon has made it easy for even the most inexperienced photographer to shoot images you’d swear were taken by someone who’s been using a digital SLR for years. It’s as easy as turning a dial. Just choose from six common Scene Modes like Portrait, Night Portrait, Landscape, Close Up and more to get amazing shots even in challenging environments.

Smile, shoot and share.

Your great photos should be shared, and with Nikon’s optional WU-1a wireless mobile adapter you can easily and automatically send images to your smartphone and even use your smartphone to remotely capture images from your D3200.

Photography instructor included.

If you’re new to the world of digital SLR photography, you may find all the technology a bit intimidating. Fear not. The D3200 is ready to help you every step of the way with its super-smart Guide Mode. You can learn the camera's key features and controls while you shoot, and even get advice and sample images all via the easy-to-read LCD screen.

Hardware with a high IQ.

If you want to just concentrate on framing your subject for the perfect shot, the D3200 can do all the thinking for you. In Live View, the Scene Auto Selector automatically sets the camera to the most suitable Scene Mode for the situation. Nikon's Scene Recognition System compares scene data against an extensive in-camera database to optimize the shot accordingly.

Lights, camera, amazing!

It’s not just amazing still photos that are easy to capture with this camera, it’s HD video too. You’ll be busting out the director’s chair before you know it and recording stunning full 1080p HD video. Full-time autofocus, manual exposure control, and stereo sound make it a snap to grab footage that’ll make Hollywood envious.

Why you want it.

Packed with useful features and world-renowned Nikon technology, the compact, rugged D3200 HD-SLR makes it easier than ever to shoot amazing photos and capture crisp HD video.
