Ultra HD and OLED have gotten the lion’s share of the hype at CES, but one of the most intriguing ideas surrounding TV is how to make them ‘new’ again for consumers. Samsung’s Evolution Kit may provide an opportunity in the future for TV owners to upgrade and gain access to new features the company comes out with in later TV models. In other words, spending all that money on a high-end flat-panel can presumably get a new lease on life after this kit is placed on the back.
It's about integration. That was the core of the discussion I had with Craig Mclennan last night. He's the VP for the consumer division for Samsung Canada, and while he's only a year into this role he has big plans for the brand.
At their CES press conference today, Samsung talked a lot about the evolution of TVs, and aside from smarter features and apps, some of the big news is that the F8000 LED TV is the first to have a quad-core processor built-in.

Be cool, be organized
My mom is pretty cool and likes to be up on the latest devices. But more importantly, she likes to be organized. And now that she’s a grandmother of three, life is full of so many important events and memorable moments that she’ll love the S Planner to help her keep track of birthdays, events and appointments. She can even handwrite notes directly in her calendar, or scribble her thoughts down with the natural feel of a pen.

Everyone’s travel tastes are different. For some, it’s the rush of venturing to an unknown destination in search of adventure and mystery. For me, it’s a time to relax, recharge and reflect. But whether it’s a hidden waterfall in the middle of nowhere, a secluded private beach, or a city you’ve never visited, it’s always a good idea to travel with a helpful companion.
Well, that’s a wrap on another exciting year at the world’s leading technology conference, CES.
For the uninitiated, CES happens every January in Las Vegas and serves as a showcase for the hottest new trends in technology. The top brands unveil their hottest upcoming products and give consumers a look at what they can expect over the next year.
The new Samsung ATIV Smart PC Tablet is available now. I had the opportunity to spend some time with one this week. The thing that I found most intriguing about the Smart PC Pro has to be the versatility. It has all the practical uses of a tablet but with complete Windows functionality. It is easy to travel with, quick to take into meetings, or fun to play games while at home.
The Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 with Android 4.0 OS brings a whole new level of multi-media interactivity and sharing in a super-slim, lightweight, powerful tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is an interesting little gadget. It sits somewhere between a smartphone and a tablet and does so in such a wonderful way, it is a wonder there aren’t more products like it. To some it might seem like an oversized smartphone. To others they may think of it as a small tablet. Once you use it for a while you’ll see what a nice hybrid it really is, and how it fills a need you might not have known you had.
Windows Phone 8 has only been on the market for four months, and devices like Samsung’s ATIV S are designed to not only sell consumers on the platform, but also prove that the right combination of hardware and software makes the phone just as appealing as any other Windows Phone handset. Whether this has enough to beat out the Nokia Lumia 920 or HTC Windows 8X is really a matter of taste and preference.
Samsung’s new range of Wi-Fi enabled cameras are here, the WB850F DV300F and ST200F

It’s amazing that it hasn’t happened sooner. One of the reasons that the iPhone is one of the world’s most popular cameras is because it’s stupidly easy to use. It’s fun to use. You point at something, tap on it, and take a picture. You tap one part of the screen to review the picture. You tap an arrow to share your picture. It’s just so simple.
But that simplicity belies its powerful nature. It’s a camera that’s connected to WiFi, 3G, or LTE. It’s a camera that has access to your Twitter account and your contacts. It’s a camera that runs apps.
So what is it exactly about Seth MacFarlane's works that keeps people raving? Is it the filthy humour? Clever dialogue? Unique and lovable characters? Unabashed self-awareness? Playful pop cultural references? Love it or hate it, you can't deny the impact MacFarlane has made on millions of people, and there's nothing that he won't try. Hell, even live-action doesn't seem quite so far-fetched anymore.
Connected cameras just make life easier. That’s the long and the short of it. But Samsung has done something a little different with the WB850F, adding in some powerful features to make this camera really sing.
Samsung’s WF457 and DV457 King Sized front-load laundry pair advances the state of laundry with new Smart features, a revolutionary interface, and efficiency unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
