Sony TVs equipped with X-Reality PRO technology create images and colours that make your content look better than ever before.
One of the biggest complaints about 4K TV is not that it isn’t the best video quality around. Up to now the biggest problem has been that there’s nothing broadcast in true 4K to watch.
Things are changing, albeit slowly. Several of the major broadcasters and content providers are making a lot more content available, whether it’s classic movies, or brand new must-see TV.
Every brand showcased 4K technology in various shapes and sizes at CES 2014. But what is there to watch even if you owned a UHD TV today? Sony opened their CES press conference on Monday Jan 6th with assurances that 4K content is here.
Game fans, welcome to the arena! Tonight we are going to give 110% to the search for the ideal home theatre combo. <And the crowd goes wild!> The field has never been greener! The uprights have never been yellower. The pigskin has never been piggier. And Peyton Manning's eyes have never been bluer... you know, if that's why you like watching football or whatever. Because have we got a great new TV for you to watch football's biggest game!
Following a fun-filled Sony press conference on Monday evening, Future Shop had the opportunity to kick off the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) by visiting the massive pavilion offered by Sony Electronics. There, we were mesmerized by a number of cool technologies, including wearable technology for humans and animals, and of course, advancements in big screen televisions.
Sony’s 2014 television line-up was impressive. Here’s a look at what stopped us in our tracks.
The Sony a5000 and a6000 mirrorless cameras give you the power, quality, and versatility of a DSLR in a compact, portable design.
Sony’s RX line has expanded, welcoming the RX100 III to the family. The RX line appeals to photography buffs and professionals alike, putting a lot of photo power into a body that’s svelte enough to carry in your pocket. This powerful new camera has just been announced, and you can pre-order it from Future Shop right now.
You’re in a weird place: your smartphone takes snaps that can only be described as “alright” and your point and shoot isn’t really fitting the bill. You want something easy – easy to handle, easy to use. You’re not keen on a DSLR because they’re a little more complex than you want (and you don’t feel like carrying extra lenses with you) and you’re looking for solid value for your dollar.
In short: you’re looking for something like the Sony Cybershot DSC-H300. Let’s take a look at it together.
Not everything shown at the world's largest tech stage, CES, debuts the same year. However, Sony wanted to make it easier on us Canadians to see which of their cutting-edge lines are coming to market at a Future Shop near you during 2014.
There's a new speed demon in the camera game. Check out the specs on Sony's just announced A6000.
Sony Bluetooth- and NFC-enabled speakers and headphones make it incredibly convenient to pair and enjoy your music wirelessly with great quality, volume/track controls, and even speaker phone functionality.
I’ve been using Bluetooth speakers a lot lately. It’s just so convenient being able to pipe sounds from any of my Bluetooth enabled gadgets over to a quality speaker for room-filling sound with nothing more than a tap. The latest models on the scene are Sony’s new SRS-X5 and SRS-X7 Personal Audio Systems. These speakers both have similar outward appearances evocative of classic Sony design sensibilities yet beneath the surface you’ll find some great audio technologies drawing on all of Sony’s experience in the field. The result is clear, crisp, yet deep sounds that manage to maintain full-bodied fidelity whether turned down to a whisper, or turned up to rock the party.
You just got that new CD box set or movie on Blu-Ray or the big game is about to come on and you want to enjoy it in all its visual and aural glory, but everyone is sleeping. Thankfully, Sony's Wireless Over-Ear Headphones are quick, convenient and offer untethered enjoyment of sound.
It’s not easy to imagine big sound coming out of a small package, which is what Sony endeavours to deliver here with its wireless Bluetooth Speaker Ball. The SRS-BTV5, which is the product’s actual model number, is a bit like a baseball, except it’s lighter and much more colourful. It’s meant to be versatile, but what it outputs in sound is what makes it tough to listen the way you’d like to.
