Our retail store policies

Buy it online, return it in-store

Need to exchange or refund your futureshop.ca purchase? It's as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Print out your purchase receipt from MY ORDERS.
2. Bring your receipt, packing slip and new, unused item(s) to any Future Shop retail store for an exchange or full refund within:

  • 30 days of receiving your order for most product categories.
  • 14 days of receiving your order for computers, monitors, printers, laptops, tablets, home security products, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors, cellular and wireless devices, portable DVD players, DJ and pro audio equipment, and air conditioners.

3. Our customer service department will help you with your exchange or refund the full value of your purchase. The funds will be applied to your credit card within seven (7) days.

If you would like to return a heavy goods item, please contact our Customer Care Department at 1-800-663-2275. Shipping and handling (S&H) charges are non-refundable; however, we will gladly refund your original shipping cost if you are returning an item because of an error on our part, or we have determined that the product is defective.

Web Only products
Products that are available online only can also be returned to any Future Shop store for a full refund upon presentation of the sales receipt. Exchanges for these products however cannot be handled at a Future Shop store since they are sold only through our online store.

Please note the following conditions:
Product packaging includes all manuals & accessories. There will be a nominal charge for missing packaging, accessories or manuals.

Returns and exchanges require your name, address, phone number and signature for audit and fraud prevention purposes. Valid photo ID may be requested to confirm this information. See the Privacy Policy for more details. Returns with original receipt will be made to the original method of payment. Store credit will be given for returns with gift receipts.

Due to copyright laws, computer and game console software, music CDs, DVDs and videos in opened packages may only be exchanged for the same title. Installation is not refundable if the service has been performed.

Exchanging or returning products purchased in-store.
OUR RETURN POLICY: If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchases, Future Shop will gladly give you a full refund or exchange.

Simply return the product within 30 days (14 days for computers, monitors, printers, laptops, tablets, cellular & wireless devices, home security products, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors, portable DVD players, DJ and pro-audio equipment, and air conditioners) in its original condition and packaging (including all manuals & accessories) along with the original receipts. For online returns, the 30- and 14-day time window begins on the date of delivery (when you receive your item).

There will be a charge for missing packaging, accessories or manuals. All software, music CDs, DVDs and videos in opened packages may only be exchanged for the same title. Services such as installation and delivery are not refundable if the service has been performed. Prepaid cards are not refundable, nor are opened packages of consumable products (such as batteries, ink, and food), hobby grade R/C, microphones, sheet music, in-ear monitors, harmonicas, musical instrument strings, and apparel. For Future Shop items sold exclusively online, please refer to our return policy for full policy details.

Products sold by our Liquidation center cannot be returned or exchanged at other store locations or futureshop.ca, nor can products sold by other Future Shop store locations or futureshop.ca be returned or exchanged at our Liquidation center. Returns and exchanges require your name, address, phone number and signature for audit and fraud prevention purposes. Valid photo ID may be requested to confirm this information. Returns with the original receipt will be made to the original method of payment. Credit card purchases will be refunded to the original credit card. Store credit will be given for returns with gift receipts. Price Beat Promise.
We’ll beat any price you find online, in-store, or in print by 10% of the difference. You won’t get it for less anywhere else.

1) If you find a lower price online, in-store or advertised in print we will beat it by 10% of the difference.
2) If you find a lower price online, in-store or advertised within 30 days of your purchase we will beat it by 10% of the difference.
3) If our own price is reduced within 30 days of your purchase bring in your receipt and we will refund the difference.

Here’s how it works.

If you’re about to make a purchase at Future Shop.

  • Tell us which competitor is offering the lower price.
  • Our associates will verify the price and that the item is in stock and available for immediate sale and delivery.
  • We will beat the competitor’s price by 10% of the difference.

If you made your purchase in the last 30 days.

  • Present us with your original receipt and tell us which competitor is offering that price.
  • Our associates will verify that the item is in stock and available for immediate sale and delivery at that price.
  • We will refund you the difference and give you an additional 10% of the difference.

If our own price was reduced in the last 30 days.

  • Present us with your original receipt.
  • We will refund you the difference.

Here are a few terms and conditions.
The item must be sold by an authorized dealer located in Canada. For online competitor price beats the product must be located in Canada.

The item must be for the same brand and model and the product must be new and factory sealed. It must also be subject to a manufacturer’s warranty applicable in Canada and the product must be available for purchase in Canada.

Competitors’ prices must be in Canadian dollars and will be adjusted for any fees, taxes or other charges such as environmental handling fees and shipping.

Our Price Beat Promise does not apply to Boxing Day prices, advertising errors or misprints, special educational prices, restricted offers, mail order offers, rebates, coupons, premiums, free or bonus offers, OEM products, limited or minimum quantity or limited time offers, close-outs, liquidations, clearances, and financing offers.
