What's New: Sony (alpha) DSLR-A100K Digital SLR Camera

Sony  ™ DSLR-A100K, or "Alpha" for short, is a professional-style digital SLR that was developed by Sony with Konica Minolta technology. It boasts an impressive 10 megapixels, Optical Image Stabilization and even dust-control technology to keep your pictures perfect. Basically the Alpha is one serious camera that also provides serious bang for your buck.
Incredible imaging.
With 10.2 megapixels the Alpha will give you amazing image quality, even when you enlarge your photos. To boost the performance even further, Sony's HAD™ (Hole Accumulated Diode) design allows more light to hit the sensor for greater sensitivity with less visual noise.
The higher sensitivity also means better performance at higher ISO settings - for low light situations and faster motion shots - when visual noise can also ruin a perfect shot. The Alpha can be set up to an ISO of 1600.
Fast response time is also crucial, and there's no shortage here; the advanced, hardware-based Bionz™ image processor responds ten times faster than software-based image processors. This processor also means long battery life and super-quick start-up.
Extra features add up to great shots.
This is the only digital SLR camera to feature Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology, called SuperSteady Shot. This exclusive Sony technology automatically shifts the sensor anytime your hands shake, helping to make sure your photos are free of blurring. Plus an anti-dust coating on the lens and a vibration system eliminate dust that can get on your lenses and ruin your perfect photo.
There's more big news on the outside of the camera, too, with a big, bright 2.5" LCD screen on the back for reviewing your shots or changing settings, and a 18-70mm Carl Zeiss® lens. Thanks to the collaboration between the two photography giants, there's a Maxxum/Dynax mounting system on the Alpha that lets you use an incredible number of lenses from Sony and Konica Minolta.
Staying power.
With the Alpha, you can shoot three frames per second in continuous shooting mode, even at full resolution, and keep on shooting until the card is full. You'll never miss a shot, even when the action heats up. Plus, the extended battery life you get from the processor means you can shoot longer - up to 750 shots per charge.
