Through partnerships, personal change and helping our customers reduce their impact, Future Shop is dedicated to continuing to find more and better ways to reduce our environmental impact. Here are a few examples of what we are doing:
Kept 300,000 lbs of electronics out of landfills since 2008.
Every day – at all of our stores – we invite customers to return batteries, cell phones, MP3 players, CDs and ink cartridges for recycling. Starting in 2009, we started also started taking back computers, TVs and hundreds of other electronic items at select locations.

Reduced 260,000 pay stubs from travelling across Canada.
With 10,000 employees Future Shop was mailing and couriering thousands of paystubs across the country. Hundreds of trees are spared and thousands of pounds of emissions are prevented by sending these bi-weekly letters through ePost – an online service provided free from Canada Post.

Recycled 10 million pounds of cardboard and paper since 2008.
Each of our stores and our head office recycles paper and cardboard which in turn saves thousands of trees from being harvested each year. Recycled paper in turn requires 60% less energy to produce than virgin paper.
